Best Composite under $125

Recommended Posts

I was wondering what you guys think the the best composite under $125 and $100 is respectively. As much as I love the Vapor 60s and 9Ks they add up, and are too expensive for mens league on a graduate student budget.

If you can find higher end sticks on clearance in the flex/curve you like, that can always be a great option. You might be able able to find Bauer X:50s, Warrior Dolomites (Dragon version) and Easton SE16s for not too much more than $125.

In terms of full price, I think the Bauer one80 is quite a nice price point stick, around $150 in Canada, but I think more like $120 in the States?

I've heard good things about the Reebok 6k, Bauer One60, and Bauer One80. You can find Sherwood T90's on clearance too for around 100, that would be a good route to go

I'd go with a top end shaft+blade combo. You can generally find some great prices on stuff that's a year or two old. On a budget of about $125 (before shipping). Here's what I'd buy.

If 87 is a good flex for you and you're okay with standard here's one (Bauer One95 shaft)

A nice blade to go along with it (Warrior AK27 Double D)

I have the 6k and it's a good stick for that price, very light and I like that you can order a 75 flex. I would also recommend a good shaft+ blade combo

x:40 is good value for $99. Clearance times, so watch websites. If you don't mind not being able to find exact same stick as easily pro stocks are great value. Most I've picked up were about $100-$139 new or about $80-90 used. Great way to get x60,S19,Totalone etc at big savings.

One80, T90, x50, and the 6k has gotten pretty good reviews too. Most high end shafts will cost around $120 themselves, so I would just stick with high end sticks on clearance if I was you.

There's also the Harrow 300 series 2 piece route. Lots of options. It's a total of $140 full price, but there's a pretty steady roll of 20% offers on their facebook page. I'm a fan, though it is noticeably heavier than the X50.

I think a shaft/blade would offer the best performance for your money. After a slightly higher initial investment ($100-$120 for a top-end shaft) you get most of the benefits of a new stick for the cost of a $50-$60 blade. Blade cost can drop further if you buy multiples. You also gain a lot of options in terms of shaft/blade combinations and feel, as well as curve patterns.

Under $125:

If you stick to OPS, I'd echo the already made suggestions for finding previous top-end stick on clearance, or the more readily available Bauer One80, Sherwood T90, Bauer X:50, Easton S15, I'd also add the Combat 45cal to the list.

Under $100:

The RBK 6K, Bauer X:40 and One60 and Combat 22cal...probably in that order

That $25 between 99.99 and 124.99 can make a big difference, but if you're used to top-end sticks I still think a two-piece will get you the pricing you want with the least drop (if any) in performance.

I've seen a lot of suggestions for the Reebok 6K, and it was one of the sticks that I was considering before I bought my X40, but I was a little worried about blade durability. How does it stand up in the new SicKick III line?

check out the used sticks here in the sell forum. it costs 10 bucks to join but its worth it in my opinion. i got a sweeeeeet deal on a TPS R10 a couple years ago for less that 100! anyway, who makes the T90?

I have had my p87a for about 2 months now, I use it about 2 times a week at various pickups. The shaft has held up great, I have noticed there is a slight crack on the bottom of the blade towards the heel. That could be because I don't tape my whole blade? I really don't know. But the blade isn't going soft and I doubt the crack will get much bigger.

P91a is the curve, what kind of stick are you talking about?

My bad I was replying to the question about the 6k blade.

Reebok don't have a curve called the P91a, do they? AFAIK only Bauer have a P91a curve.

I just picked up a couple of Easton SE16's for $129.99 each. Best stick I can think of for for the price. The Warrior Dolomite Dragon others have suggested is a good choice as well.
