Bauer branded franchises !

Recommended Posts

Some European teams have team-wide deals with manufacturers for certain pieces of equipment. I would bet this club has an agreement to use Bauer gloves, and to accomodate this player's Warrior preference, you see Bauer on the cuff roll.

I've seen stickers placed over the original manufacturers logos in the past, don't recall seeing them replace the name entirely. Then again, I don't pay that much attention to European hockey.

Actually...those ads aren't nearly as bad an eyesore as some of the ones I've seen. Lots of AHL teams have patches similar to the WV on the shoulder and the other one on the left chest. The LG on the front is kinda weird...I'd like to see the front/centre of the jersey be just for the team logo.

They look like race car drivers with all those ads/logos, what a disgrace.

Do you realise that in some countries that hockey is not the most popular sport and as such they cant charge $200 for a single ticket, they don’t get rinks seemingly thrown at them by the state (The city of Prague isn’t going to be throwing money at their two teams like Glendale throws at the Coyotes!) and that they don’t get to enjoy the spoils of big money TV deals to the same degree that NHL teams do..? They need the adverts to survive, it's not like their being greedy. I digress, this is off-topic, but the situation that some hockey teams find themselves in is not the same the world over.

That is a Warrior Franchise glove with a Bauer Cuff sewn onto it. A few teams in the AHL got in trouble last year for doing the exact same thing. Trying to make the players happy but Reebok wasnt to happy about it.

Perhaps Reebok should make a glove that will make the players happy to wear it.

How are companies able to put their logo on another companies product? Wouldnt their be a lot of lawyer work involved?

first of all we have no idea if "Companies...put their logo on another companies product" or not. it could have been (and likely was) the equipment manager making the modification... and once a person/team buys a product, it becomes theirs to do whatever they want with. if the player prefers the warrior glove, but the team requires the bauer brand on the equipment, it's up to the team to decide how they want to proceed. in this case, they were obviously willing to go through the trouble to make the changes to accommodate both the manufacturer endorsement and the player preference.

Alright point taken but when you say "willing to go through troubles" you think/know if lawyers got involved?

no... when i say "going through the troubles" i mean taking a branded piece off a bauer glove and putting it on a warrior glove. i dont imagine that its easy work.
