Do You Remember Your First Stick You Had as A Kid

Recommended Posts

Im just interested to see if you guys remember your first hockey stick that you had. For some reason I can never forget mine and even tho its been a really long time I can picture it exactly. just interested to see if you guys had the same reccollection and what kind was it?

mine was a mid 1970s Northland straight blade. I think they went outta business not long after I got one, actually I had two

I unfortuntely dont have any pics of my northland but if any of you guys have pics of yours that would be really cool to see so please post pics if you have em!

I remember my first stick very clearly; it was a Northland junior stick. My Dad got it for me from our local Home Hardware store. I remember finding the stick while my Dad was looking at other stuff he needed for a project he was doing. For some reason now that I'm reflecting on the day, I recall falling in love with the stick because it had green printing on the stick and green was my favorite color. I held onto the stick everywhere we went in the store. Luckily, my Dad figured having me out of his hair playing hockey outside was better than me trying to help him with the project so the stick came home with us.

Player: Titan.

Goalie: hmm... now that requires a brain wracking. I have a dim image of a white stick with large red letters, so it was probably a Titan, but now I'm not so sure. The very first goalie stick I ever used on a pond or a hardwood floor was probably my grandfather's handmade one, which he produced from a single piece of wood. I still have that somewhere. Very 'Wonderboy'-esque.

Northland Hat Trick (straight).... to go with my Northland helmet. My first real stick was a red Titan. Loved that thing.

the red titan! where they called tmp and had the gretzky signature? had the fiberglass/plastic in the blade so you could play street without breaking it after one game

im a little suprised that this many people already in this thread had a northland as their first stick, thats really cool tho! ill never forget mine!

If you mean the very first, it was one of those full plastic ones for street hockey, I think Mylec probably made it, but I don't remember any logos on it.

Second want a Mylec with the wood shaft and screw on plastic blade.

Easton Aluminum shaft for street hockey. Wore through the blade it came with and replaced it with a Louisville LOCTITE. rofl. When I first got that blade replaced, I began a career in gear whoring.

An old green and purple Easton shaft that I believe was a "Paul Kariya" special edition. I forget the blade, but I have a picture of little me holding that stick in my first game.

Mine was the first generation of RBK 1K wood stick with the ABS blade in navy. Used for street hockey obviously, me and my brother would whack around a ball near the dumpsters in our old condo

White and red Titan. Uncle got 3 of them for my brothers and I on Christmas, showed us how to measure, cut, and tape them up. I started officially playing a year later. Historic moment, for me at least.

Koho woodie with that red/green foil sticker about where the fuse point would be now. Straight blade that my mom would retape without removing the old tape. The thing just kept growing thicker and heavier.
