NashvillePreds 1 Report post Posted March 4, 2012 Got a good deal on a GX8 but tough to read anything about them online. Anyone used one and how do the curves compare to some of the mainstream companies? Thanks.
JR Boucicaut 3805 Report post Posted March 4, 2012 Actually really good, especially for the money. The one I had, was too much curve for me but had a local guy beat it up for me and he really liked it.
TBR 11 Report post Posted March 5, 2012 Excellent sticks for the value. Also much easier exchanging those that are broken or damaged within the warranty period.Instead of going through the manufacturer like most other brands, you just go back to the store you bought it from with the receipt, and within minutes you'll walk out with a new twig. kjcjhockey 2 Report post Posted March 5, 2012 I've got two GX8's and love them. I got the PS 119 curve, which is similar to the Sakic curve. So far they've been durable. I play three times a week and consider myself somewhat tough on sticks. No chipping or cracking after two months of use. The decals started to flake and peel off, but that has no affect on the performance of the stick. It's a solid stick for a price you can't beat.
chippa13 1844 Report post Posted March 5, 2012 I got to try out their Pro Stock Lite at WF. It played pretty well and if it had grip on it then I would have really liked it.
NashvillePreds 1 Report post Posted March 6, 2012 Sounds good guys. Pulled the trigger on the 119 curve. Hoping it gets here before pickup Friday night and I'll tell you guys what I think of it.

Buzz_LightBeer 974 Report post Posted March 7, 2012 We can't keep GX-8's on the shelf by us, the beer league guys snatch them up too quick
kjcjhockey 2 Report post Posted March 7, 2012 It's been difficult finding a dealer here in Northeast Ohio who carries the GX-8. I've had to order them online.
Chappy55 2 Report post Posted March 14, 2012 All the kinds words are making me BLUSH!!!! Thanks for the support....2012 / 2013 is going to be a very interesting season for those that underestimate the "Davids of the Hockey industry"?We're set to introduce a new and exciting lineup of products - always staying true to our " affordable Technology" story...As an aside - Chadd - sorry about the delay in the replacement palms - our supplier misunderstood our request and actual build gloves using the material as opposed to the replacement palms only! Have not forgotten. kjcjhockey - PM me so that i can help you out with a local retailer....
DLK 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2012 I can't seem to find a pattern chart anywhere on the 'net.Winnwell's website has a very helpful left/right picture...but the numbers on it don't seem to correspond to the PS curve numbers at all!I'll be popping in to a couple of local shops to try to take a look at them in person this weekend, but it would be nice to have an idea of which patterns I'd be looking for before I go.I've been looking at clearance/closeouts of higher-end sticks lately, but this sounds perfect for my pricepoint. chippa13 1844 Report post Posted March 14, 2012 From WF, the 112 is similar to Iginla, the 119 similar to Drury, the 161 similar to Nash.
Buzz_LightBeer 974 Report post Posted March 15, 2012 I'd put 119 as more Sakic, less Drury
chippa13 1844 Report post Posted March 15, 2012 I could have misremembered on that one.
Chadd 916 Report post Posted March 16, 2012 I'd put 119 as more Sakic, less DruryMakes sense as that was the TPS Sakic clone for their pro stock patterns.
wrlittle 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2012 I picked one of these up and was blown away. The balance on it made it feel very light, reminded me of the CCM U+ CL. Loved the little indent on inside of edge, really liked the way my thumb felt in the groove.Almost bought one, but couldn't justify it. I had three quality sticks on the go. Now I regret it, because I haven't seen a GX-8 in Winnipeg since. Only the 7's.

DLK 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2012 I cannot believe how obvious that is now that you pointed it out, BenderHockey...how did I miss that!?PS OV8 is presumably one of the Ovechkin curves. Chelios is probably the most likely candidate for the 124.155 is a little harder...Murphy? Jovanovski? Gonchar? I think I've seen patterns for all three. chippa13 1844 Report post Posted March 16, 2012 I'd go with Jovonovski since I recall him having a pattern in the Louisville line up at one time.

Hammers44 4 Report post Posted January 30, 2013 Does anyone know if the 155 is a Getzlaf/Lidstrom clone? It looks similar but I couldn't exactly tell from the picture
Chappy55 2 Report post Posted February 1, 2013 Thanks for the note....Our 155 model is based on the Lidstrom / Getzlaf models....or for those that are in the Over 40 category ( Leetch)!
