Updated Easton RS Stick

Recommended Posts

Saw that they are updating the RS in the fall and the article indicated some actual changes, not just cosmetic, so...

Does anyone know if they are changing the construction of the blade or is that remaining the same? Just wondering if the feel will be different. Wouldn't mind if it wasn't quite as pingy.

For this model, Easton went to a Kevlar woven shaft vs this years kevlar wrap, a stiffer blade and a Microbladder blade.

Hope that Helps boys

Does the microbladder blade mean a more Mako-esque feel?

Its a micro bladder/ multi rib, so it will be a bit different, and I havent gotten to see it yet but I think they went in that direction because the Mako's positive feedback.

You find the RS blade to be pingy? Odd, I find it to have little-to-no feel. I went from an X60 to the RS, though.

Ahhh... I came from a TotalOne. Little bit of a difference there. Tried an X60 once, thought that was WAY pingy, unusable, for me of course, all personal preference.

i always said the blade was the worst part about the stick. while the feel was great the blade was fragile. it struggled with areas like taking a hard pass. not sure i want to gamble on the RS again though as it already let me down once to the tune of around 750$

Looks like I'll be holding off on my custom order with PSHG until these new models come out. I love the RS, it's favorite stick slightly behind the old late SiCore and Gold Synergy, but that blade was definitely the weaker part of the stick.

from what pshg told me,the eqpro has an st like blade, which I found to be one of the best things about the black/orange st

agree 100% with you Krev. si-core was my favorite stick and the rs is a close second

so are they recalling all the current rs's or putting them on closeout?

No, and yes, they will be on closeout.

Although, changing the name and the stick after a year does make it seem like something's wrong, huh? Why not just make a running change if the blade was that big of an issue?

Wasn't the blades going soft a big problem with the S19 as well?

i never had an issue with the s19 blades and i used them exclusively for their product run and even went BACK to them after i gave up on the rs!

It was on the S17 but I haven't noticed anything like that on the S19.

It's Easton, isn't that pretty much a given at this point now?

What's it being called now, the RS: Less crappy blade V2.0?

To my knowlege the name is not officially changing.

In the catalog and all the new material, as well as printed on the stick, it still is just the Stealth RS.

They did have RSII on the UPC sticker on the stick, but the name on the stick was still just RS and that is what is on all the material I have.

I'm not going to do a serious closeout on them in my store. I dont have that many left though since they've been hard to get, but I'll just put them on a small reasonable discount and leave it at that.

BTW, the MAP price is going up $10 to $259 as well.

Is it? I was under impression it was the RS 2, but if it isn't on the stick and the catalogue, then smart move for them not to change the name.

You know more about it than I do.

The SiCore was my favorite Easton also in terms of puck feel, the RS is my favorite shaft, love the kick. Hopefully they are trending back toward the puck feel of the blade on the SiCore, that would be really nice. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Hopefully someone on here can get their hands on one on the ice and let us know how this stick feels. But it's probably too far from release for that right now, arrrggg... I'm too impatient!!!...

Yup. The dealer info says the "Stealth II" on it, but the sticks were all marked with the current names, RS, 75s, etc.

I think its smart to keep the name. Like you said, it doesnt imply something wrong with the old and makes things easier. I wish that all companies just kept the names year to year. After all, a Toyota Camry is a Camry year to year, just with new models. Why cant sticks and skates be the same?
