Ogie Oglethorpe 14 Report post Posted December 3, 2004 I used to have a relative at Reebok (he's since moved on). They did look at developing skates (rollerblades at first perhaps? Trying to remember) about 5-6 years ago. But, they decided not to (can't remember - they had some interest in another hockey company perhaps and didn't want to compete with cross products? Tickling my memory, just can't pull it in).I did, at one point in time, get a very sweet deal on the CCM 752 pumps at one point in time ($100 - brand new just as they hit market). Reebok leased the pump to CCM. Now that rumors are coming out that the pump may start resurfacing in some of Reeboks sneakers (shoes - not skates), I wonder if they might start with pump skates again? I really liked the pump skate. If your skates weren't tight enough - don't bother relacing - just pump! Form fit every time. Very comfy around the ankles too. Also, once your feet started to "heat up" and swell with exertion, you could let a little air out to keep a comfy fit. I remember that they took the pump out of the tongue because too many players were pumping the tongue up too much and sufered from lace bite (I would have liked to try the tongue pump actually, but my model didn't have them).Regardless, it's interesting that they're entering now. I'm very curious to see what they plan on offering skate wise?

Jim A 4 Report post Posted December 4, 2004 Reebok is coming back with the pump, launching after the NBA All Star Game this year...the pump will now be based on some sort of self fitting bladder..ie..it will snug to a certain part on your heel,etc...and does so automatically...to my knowledge it no longer will be based on how many pumps you make on the tongue
kosydar 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2004 Kinda like those new Adidas TMac shoes? I was talking to this guy at Adidas about them, he said that there aren't any laces, you just turn a key in the heel and a bladder fills up with air, tightening the shoe. Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 I believe there was two pumps on the skates. A big one in the middle and a much smaller one below and to the right of it. The big one pumped up, the little one let the air out.
JR Boucicaut 3810 Report post Posted December 5, 2004 There was a pump and a little one which deflated it.
