BASE Supernatural Test Program

Recommended Posts

I wonder why on the BASE site they call this the "Supernatural"

Warrior probably still owns the copyright to "Polarfibre"

Because that's what it's actually called, lol. I should be getting mine to test out in the next week or so.

EBondo. Is this building on the natural? What have you heard about it?

To be completely honest with you, not much. Just that it was 'new' and will be coated with a polarfibre-like grip. BASE is doing a test group for these sticks and I was one of the people they picked to test it out, so I don't have too much info on it. If I'm allowed (I know BASE is a touchy subject on here) I'll open a LTR on it once I do get it.

Maybe that will make his pattern available in the Base pro blade option

If this is the case, they will definitely have a new customer in me.

We don't have a problem with them.

Actually, you can't open a LTR because that privilege only comes to those manufacturers who seed product through us for our members.

I was chosen as well and I'm still waiting for them to email me back. I'm getting a little irritated seeing peoples sticks shipping out on their Facebook page and I haven't gotten a reply back yet.

I also got an oppourtunity to test out the new Base SuperNatural stick. You might want to call them instead, they are slow on the emails. Can't wait to get mine and nice to see Kovalev in a Base. Maybe make that Kovy pro curve available soon?

Like JetsCanuck said, give them a call. Was no problem getting a hold of them, and placed my order right over the phone with them...and yeah that's what I meant JR...not a long-term review like on here, but a customer review.

I got picked to test the SuperNatural as well. According to their site my stick was shipped to their shipping hub yesterday. Hoping to get it soon.

After seeing the program details, I think I'll change my stance on the allowing of reviews of this particular stick on MSH.

Allow me to explain why -

For regular reviews, it is a product that the reviewer bought the product (either full price or at a discount to a retailer), meaning that the tester is publishing the review on his own terms, without any semblance of influence from the manufacturer.

Now, with our LTRs; we make it a point that there is a separation between the tester and the manufacturer. If there are any issues with the product that the tester has received, they go through a mediator (which is the MSH staff) who will then relay that information back to the manufacturer. Once there is a resolution, the tester will make note of that in their review, as well as the process in which the manufacturer resolved the problem. MSH receives absolutely zero monetary or product compensation for this program; the products that we receive personally from manufacturers are strictly for reviewing. We merely opened the program up for the general public.

While the end result is the same - the manufacturer receives feedback and marketing and the user receives a stick that he/she may or may not like, and MSH gains content for its review section, the fact that the user has to pay for the sample and has to then promise the manufacturer content is something I'd rather not have on MSH. That all being said, if BASE wants to participate in our LTR program, they are more than welcome to, and can reach out to us if they choose to.

I don't think I can really answer that question, however, the fact that they had to pay for the stick in exchange of a promise of content just doesn't sit well with me.

In almost all situations, we require Members+ status and minimum 3 reviews to be even considered for a LTR. Our stance is that the tester must show that they are an active participant, to have a portfolio of sorts to get the opportunity to review a seeded product, as well as a paragraph describing why they should be a good candidate to test. Must admit, I chuckle at those who say they have great reasons as to why they should test, but don't have any actual reviews on MSH. It's like going in to a job interview without a resume.

I'm curious what was promised, and what was the benefit to the customer. Discount? Ability to purchase a particular model, or spec it?

So you believe that people will post honest reviews of the stick, especially those that paid for the stick, to come out and say "the stick is garbage"?

Not saying that the stick is garbage and would be surprised if ONE person came forth and did an "honest" review...

Makes me laugh, just like all the guys who order gloves and spec it out a certain way, only to accept the gloves as they are and not as they were ordered.

Honestly, I was impressed with my original BASE stick I had. But, the blade had durability issues which is the main reason why I never ordered another one. I've participated in the MSH LTR program before, and gave an honest review to the product I received.

The sticks were sold to the customer at a 35% discounted price, and as always with BASE, you have the option to customize the stick. Patterns, lie, finishes on the blade, and height can all be customized. In essence, it's like a myBauer system.

I have never owed a Base stick but have always wanted to and felt since i had planned on buying one anyway that i would apply for the test team. And what I quoted is basically the deal. 35% off and i was able to customize by curve, lie, blade finish, height, they gave me a custom 80 flex, and will put your name and number on it.

i am the opposite. The reason I keep going back to Base is because of the durability.

As for the Super Natural, it is a new model up from the regular Natural. They both use polar fibre grip.

I gather that the promised review doesn't have to be positive. A company can always choose which reviews, if any, it wants to quote or publish.

on the phone when i ordered i was told that in return they just wanted video/written feedback either positive or negative. So i guess if you try and really dont like it, just tell them

Exactly. That's what a review is. Unbiased opinions. If you don't like the product, tell them. That's why you were chosen to give your feedback.
