Ranger-#8 1 Report post Posted December 19, 2004 Is jaybird the best around for tape? Also how is their clear any good?
ambro 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2004 Jaybird's actual tape part is the best. The problem is the adhesive they use(d). A few of my friends got cases lately and that problem seems to be fixed, so I would safely say that their tape is the best. I used Sportstape as well, and that stuff was shit. It wore out on the bottom of the blade within 15 minutes of practice time. Jaybird will last a good 3-4 hours before wearing out on the bottom.Sorry, Ranger, I don't know about their poly shin tape as I don't use shin tape.
joshy207 15 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 Jaybird's clear is pretty good, I've been using it for about 6 years. It's not quite as stretchy as Renfrew or CompOStick, but it holds very tight and sticks well, and doesn't leave gooey residue on your socks. It's a little thicker than the other brands too. thunderbirds_are_go 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2004 The only Jaybird tape I've seen down here in New Zealand could barely stick to itself on the roll. The adhesive was easily the worst I've seen on hockey tape. The Renfrew stuff might wear out quicker, but at least it sticks. Haven't tried the sock tape though, so can't comment on that. troybruins89 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2004 I got some tape this weekend from the tape-o corporation. Its the best tape I have ever used. The adhesive isnt as strong as Renfew, but is still stronger than others I have tried. I havent tried their shinquard tape so im not so sure about it. Andover tape is also good but their shinguard tape is horrible. Renfew is my least favorite and i have had problems with it not coming off the roll very well.
