New Vapor sticks.

Recommended Posts

Looking online recently at the new Vapor line of sticks and saw how they have kept just to having 4 sticks, as the previois generation did. Today I picked of an equipment buyer's guide from le trio hockey (PHL in the rest of Canada) and the section of Vapors they the 2X stick advertised in the middle of the line priced at $269.99 CAD.

I have to ask, was this stick dropped after something like this was printed, or will it be an exclusive to certain retailers? Seems odd that this store is the only place who has advertised the "mid-range" stick.

$270 seems crazy for a middle of the pack stick!

With that chart, I'm guessing it was dropped. Doubt any store would sell a $300 (after taxes) SMU with mid-range specs. Or any mid-level stick

What was the specific name of the stick?

Yup, personally wouldn't spend more than150 cdn for a stick.  Got my 2 rekker 365 sticks for 100 and 129 cdn on clearance.  Very impressed with them and the weight is incredible.

Hey Team,

I've just made the transition from a few 1X Lites to the new FlyLite.

Is it just me or have they dialled back the tack on the new FlyLite line?

It has nowhere near the amount of grip as the 1X Lite and I find my bottom hand sliding all over the place.

On that note, any suggestions other than reverse side tape for a layer of grip?

I get a lot of confidence from the extra tack in the 1X Lite knowing the stick and my glove are almost one.

It is a little disappointing if they have altered the mix in the GripTac layering.

Try maybe plastidip. I’ve never tried myself but heard that it was decent. It wears off from game wear and tear but u can just apply again.

Krylon clear gloss plastic spray paint. It's basically like grip.

This stuff.

Okay,

Unfortunately both KWIK Grip and Plasti Dip failed. I applied a coat of each on seperate occasions and allowed at least 4 hours to dry.

Within minutes on the ice the film came straight off and made for a fairly sticky mess. Any other suggestions would be awesome!

My question still remains.

have they dialled back the tack on the new FlyLite line?

From the 1x lite to the flylite no, they have not. One thing I notice once my gloves are starting to go is the grip on my sticks. Take a look into new gloves or redoing palms.

My gloves are less than a season old. Supreme 1S and the palms are in great condition.

Is it possible that the stick I have was a batch with less grip? It is seriously noticeable even comparing the two off ice.

I have a second on order which will arrive in a few days so I'll be comparing.

Why are you using either of those options? You are just ruining your gloves. Use this:

Looks like the 2x didn't get dropped and available in Canada. Kind of weird that it's only a 30 dollar difference than the 2x pro.... Can't really find specs on it in terms of weight though.

I noticed this bc it's going on sale for black Friday at sport chek and I almost got it mixed up with the 2x pro.

Also does anyone know how much the 2x pro weighs? Bauer's site says the 60" version is 425 grams and 62" is 440 whereas every other retail website says the 60" in 413 grams and the 62" is 425.

Held the 60’ 2X PRO not long ago at Sportchek. Obviously could put it on a scale but it was on par with a 415g stick. Was pretty light IMO.

U get a chance to hold the 2x non pro? Seems like a canada only model.
