I hate it when I go to participate in a poll, click the BIG BUTTON (as I am multitasking and am too big an idiot to read what it says closely) and negate my vote by accident.....

You'd think that after doing it 4 or 5 times I'd learn.... guess too many pucks to the head....

5000 has less foam padding than the 4000 but it has jell padding which in my opinion is better.

But they start falling out after a couple of weeks or months.

Really? I have had mine for 8 months playing 4 times a week and have had no problems with it. I had never heard of that hapening to 5000's.

Mine fell out inside a month and most of the people I know have had to glue theirs back in. It's very common around here. I can't imagine this is the only place where that happens.

Yeah, I've owned quite a few 5000s, all but one have gel pacs glued in by me. I always fall back to 3/4000s even though I have an itech 85/95, jofa 690, ht500 and ht2

There is no single best helmet, the best helmet is the one that fits your head the best while still providing excellent protection.

I got the 8000 at the beginning of the season and its saved me quite a few times. Fits perfectly and is very comfy.

I've got a Bauer 5000. Believe it or not but this is my 6th year with it but it's payed it's due. It's got a crack where the mask attaches but I'm not going to invest in a new helmet since I only have two games left. It's been a great helmet thought fit well and was well worth the price. I'm looking into RBK's new helmet.

the only one out of these that manages to fit my head properly is the 8000, so naturally it got my vote, also, it feels awesome, especially being able to adjust side to side and the occipital lock thing. the only problem is hte $150 price tag, which i can't justify spending right at this moment

I really liked the Hefter helmets I saw at the hockey show. Really nice, light , and nice looking. I also liked the Reebok's. Ever since the AHL all star game, the kids have been bombarding me with "when are you going to get the reebok helmets" questions. I already have several sold and I don't even have them yet!

He didn't even take it out of the case in Vegas, no way to get a good feel for it there. I had high hopes but the way they've been handling the product has really turned me off. (Hefter)

LOL. Denis Hefter is my friends dad. He's alittle wierd I think. I think that my team next year (I'm on his sons team) is going to be sponsered by them, and get free helmets, or at least discounted. Thats what his son said. That would be pretty cool.

The Bauer 4000 has been the best for me personally. The only complaint I have is the crack that always seems to occur near the back screws, not from over tightening either, just happens on everyone I've ever owned eventually. I also have a pro stock HT2 that I like. Normally I hate the thick padding in a normal HT2, so this one works nice for me.
