New Gloves

Recommended Posts

After getting some blisters in my old easton airs in practice today i decided its time for new mitts. I like the vapor xv a lot but my question is do they have the same durability issues as the vapor skate does. I'll also throw it out there...what are your fav gloves? I dont want eagle because i dont like one piece fingers, other than that, any suggestions?

DR Legend series

THANK YOU

I prefer it to the stock X70 and it retails for less than my cost on an X70. I'm hoping I can get more people into the DR gear, the value is great on their gear. Especially the goal and gloves.

I do hate the shins and the goofy-ass calf wrap.

well thanks for the support... hopefully that will pass along to my area!

the shins have gotten a lot better on fit the past two years, and the new extension to the shin strap makes that a lot better, but if you don't like it, you can always cut it off!

Everyone says that about the wrap but it's a hard sell to tell someone to buy a product and then mangle it. A good two-strap system would make them so much easier to sell. Even the kids that like the pads, don't dig the calf wrap.

I LOVE my Oakley Maces. I'm never going to buy a diffrent glove. Mine are so worked it there like no gloves at all and there pretty light.

If your willing to spend some $$$, go for some Vapor XX or XXX. They are the most comfortable gloves ever. I just recently bought some XXX (having the XX before that) and they have very good feel to them.

Very pricey on the other hand.

I picked mine up for $150 CAD. So compared to Eagles and XXX's there not that bad.

do the xx or xxx have any significant advantage to justify the extra cash over the xv? Chadd you're in PA right? where at? No shops in the philly area have DR.

i tried on the 8k's at my LHS a few days ago, and, honest to god, they feel by far better than the XX's, and they seem more protective too. the pittards palm is also pretty nice, but stay away from them if you have a grip stick, way to tacky.

I thought DelVal had some DR in stock. I'm 60-90 minutes west of Philly depending on where you are. I may be seeing my rep this week, he actually lives in the Philly area. Yardley, I believe.

You won't be disappointed with the XVs. Best "for your money" glove on the market in my opinion. The XX's have better protection and stretch palms but that's pretty much it in terms of anything significant. I prefer the durasoft/nash palms to the stretch/nash palms and don't need the extra protection so the fact that the XV's are $50 USD cheaper than the XX's was just a bonus for me.

I'm a big fan of my Muskoka gloves.

I liked the 970s but they bombed here. Kids only want certain names.

you know chadd, that is an honest to god sad truth. i remember when i was younger, i wanted the 1052 tacks shoulder because of the ad in usa hockey, this was way before jofa advertised. the old timer at my LHS kind of steered me away from going for the flashy ad or cool color, and go for the right product: best fit, most protection, good value

oh yea, and i got jofa's instead

arnt the Muskoka gloves supposted to be just like eagles?

They were similar and had fantastic customer service. I know a couple members here had good experiences with Muskoka CS.

chadd, youre a pro so tell me if im correct here: brian heaton was a man that made/designed for Brians, Heaton, Vaughn, TPS goalie gear

Forte is a glove company that makes/designs: eagles, muskoka, old hespelers, old vaughn, and does tons of pro stock player gloves
