  1. Same. Why pay ridiculous MSRP when you can get them pro stock on SS for way less?
  2. Yeah, doing it in a game is silly. A pickup on the other hand, who cares.
  3. If you were concerned about total fluke outcomes that would be honestly difficult to pull off, you'd just wear a normal cage. Same for cat eye cages for goalie masks.
  4. That's a bummer, it would be really nice. Easy enough to add yourself, I guess. Interesting they'd choose to do it for ref shins though where that flap isn't going to get caught on pants.
  5. I don't understand why theres no elastic strap on that flap like there is on the same flap on referee shins. It's so much better!
  6. Sort of. It is very likely done in the same way as a bespoke dress shoe, if you've ever seen that before. That take a similar last, add material to it, and then shave off material to get the exact shape. So it has a generic "core" but the shoe is absolutely molded to your exact foot shape. The entire last does not need to be bespoke to get an exact shape because the last can be altered with material. So I kinda cringe when I hear people say that using an off the shelf last doesn't equal a custom fit. Here's a good video detailing the bespoke shoe lasting process using an existing last:
  7. I'm not the best one to say but have definitely had no issues (aside from the hole being way too small in the goalie holders making it really annoying to use velcro toe ties).
  8. True every day of the week. Nothing beats their full custom.
  9. Moved the discussion of D'cosi into its own thread.
  10. Considered that, though thats one reason I loved the original airpods so much. They stayed in, and I had no problem hearing the world around me. I mean, at the expense of audio quality I've never actually tried a pair of bone conduction headphones. Maybe I should.
  11. Even if you were using USA Hockey rules, you as a league have the right to override them. That said, I would 100% ban earbuds while playing. There's just no reason to do it, and its a safety hazard both for the person wearing them (can't hear) as well as others if they fall out and get stepped on. I'm in total agreement with your league in banning them. That said, I have definitely considered wearing them while playing goal in pickup but never during a game. I kinda thought about mounting some motorcycle/ski helmet style speakers to the ear hole area of my mask for pickups lol
  12. I'm not sure where exactly 5ivehole has their stuff made, but their turnaround time is way faster than any other company I've ever worked with.
  13. Yeah I also prefer non-sublimated. Thats the nice thing with 5ivehole, you can do either depending on your budget.
  14. Awesome, glad to hear it. Let Charlie know we sent you :) You will love 5ivehole :D
  15. 5ivehole is the way to go. Great quality, great prices, great turnaround time, no minimums on re-orders, and supports a friend. What's not to like?
  16. Tacks 710 is the most comfortable helmet I've ever worn, no question.
  17. Or you could wear these awesome lacrosse masks
  18. Seems like the kind of thing the guys that make aftermarket goalie cages should consider doing, with the expected volume as low as it'd be. goaliecages.com or similar.
  19. We just had a player get called for a minor penalty for the visor tilt in a low level beer league game. Nevermind that the rulebook has no such minor penalty...
  20. Sara at PAW sells Nash in multiple colors. http://www.protectiveathleticwear.com/materials.htm
  21. Awesome, thank you. I wondered what it was, but not enough to go looking :D
  22. Let's get back on topic, please. If you want to start a thread discussing how stick flexes are measured or whatever the conversation is, please go ahead. Thanks all :)
  23. Certified helmets or any sort of facial protection are not required in adult divisions in USA Hockey sanctioned leagues. Of course leagues are always able to override those rules.
