I wouldn't restrict myself to a single criterion for making that decision.

Found the key to a close, smooth shave the other day. Noxzema. Forums are great. I've never had a better shave than I had today.

Not to start a huge debate...but I don't think it's fair to just flat out say "a C student shouldn't get a licence". But, I will say that I do like that your 'rents are instilling a sense of responsibility in you. A drivers licence is not a right...it's a privilege. If you aren't driving at 16...it's not the end of the world. I was almost 18 when I got mine. You'll look back and thank your parents that they made you wait.

The main difference I noticed with the RBZ shin guards vs the CLs is that they have Lycra straps instead of standard elastic straps. To me the Lycra straps felt like they allowed me to get a tighter, more secure and also more comfortable fit with the RBZ pads than I remember being able to achieve when I tried on the CLs last year. In this video the CCM Protective Line Manager mentions the changes in the RBZ shin pads starting at about 1:20. She mentions that the shell better aligns with the knee cap and that they revised the strapping system and how some of the foams fit so you get a closer fit. Based on this, the tweaks in the shell along with the strapping likely both contributed to the more secure and comfortable fit I experienced vs. the CLs.

Almost one year in the CL shoulders. I have played on average once per week maybe during that time (maybe 50 skates total), and they are holding up beautifully. I want to sell them though, and grab the RBZs, just for the additional coverage.

So after 6 years of trading in guitars one after another trying to find my "soulmate" in a guitar and failing miserably, I thought it was time I just built my "main guitar". My new baby. I chose to paint it as a modified replica of Jimi Hendrix' Monterey Pop Strat as that was the first guitar I've ever wanted as a kid. Originally a John Mayer Stratocaster (I love his music, and the neck on the strat was bloody gorgeous) with a Maple Neck, Rosewood fingerboard, and Alder Body. Repainted with Nitrocellulose lacquer (the detailing is nail polish like Hendrix used on the original). The hardware is all brand new, Vintage-style. The tuners are vintage locking Gotoh tuners. The pickups are the kicker. I handwound them myself with the help of a luthier here in Vancouver, with the specs based off of the Klein Jazzy Cats. It's scatterwound with formvar wire. The electronics are vintage-style Caps and Pots, with cloth wire connecting everything. Took me about a month to put together. It's my new soulmate in a guitar. <3
