2 pointsThe stomach is a tough area to pad, as it's basically a hinge point for your body. Too much bulk there will inhibit your movement. Most shoulder pads that come down that far in the front do so with a separate pad removable with velcro. Most pants have an ab flap to pretty much offer some padding against the belt buckle front closure. I wouldn't worry too much about a lack of padding there.

1 pointJust wanted to refresh this line of this thread because I unsurfaced this while digging through Sport Maska (CCM) patents on Google Patents: Here's the patent, Skate and method of manufacture, from 2014: https://patents.google.com/patent/EP2932864B1 That's the closest I've found to an inside look at what could be an indication of how CCM's OPBs are made. It's the same mold form I was envisioning creating that seam trace you can see along the middle of the shell.

1 pointAs far as pants— I’m 6’2” and 310 with a 46-48” waist. The Nexus 3XL pants fit me very well, and are even a bit generous in the thigh and rear, which is great for me since there is still some former powerlifter left under the squishy exterior. And Scott’s guide was basically my equipment Bible when I started up about a year ago.
