Actually, I think your one handed example supports my position. It's much easier to maneuver the opposite end of the hammer when the weight is in your hand. The same would hold true with a stick in that the blade is easier to maneuver when the balance point is closer to the hand. You're correct that a heavier stick is a heavier stick, but we rarely move the whole stick without wrist movements. I'd agree with you that in general a 400g stick would be preferable to a 500g stick, but I don't think there's any evidence to show that the average pro or Joe would prefer a 375g stick over a 400g stick. It's not unheard of for prostock sticks to be heavier than their retail counterpart. I can guarantee that the One95 sticks Kane uses are probably heavier than the Vapors they're painted as. To each his own I guess.

I had c3-c4, c4-c5, & c5-c6 fused. Also experienced a lot of similar things to what you’re describing, my pain started out in my trap/shoulder and spread quite rapidly over a month. Just a dull ache/pain from my trap/shoulder down the backside of my tricep. Fingers, ring & pinky where def tingly or just felt off, holding a pen/trying to write was a chore, dexterity was just off. Also they we’re always cold. I lost grip strength in my hand, def could feel losing Strength it in my tricep and my chest. Again not trying to scare you but like I said any time I hear this stuff I urge people to get checked out. Def sounds as if something is pinched so I would push to get care focused in and around that. Neck MRI was no dye, just a small tube so it sucked considering I’m claustrophobic. But I was willing to put up with that to find out what was wrong ha. if you’ve got any questions don’t hesitate to hit me up and I hope you can this looked at and straightened out with minimal issues!

The Pure's are the best wheels I've used in 20+ years of playing roller hockey. I've never used the Tachyon, but I know it only comes in one durometer, 0, and the Pure comes in three 0, +1 and +2. The Tachyon is also a dual pour wheel, but is positioned as a Tier 2 wheel behind the Tier 1 Pure. Even if they were exactly the same, I'd still go for the Pure because I'm over 200lbs and need the +2 durometer, but if you're under 170lbs then you could probably go with the Tachyon. If you're heavier than that, I'd either get the Pure on clearance now if you can find them in your size and durometer or get the new Pure-X when it's released.

I disagree. A 500g stick is far from heavy, it's just heavier than a 400g stick. Balance is just as important as weight. Grab a 20lb sledgehammer and simulate stick handling, then turn it around and try again. Tell me balance point doesn't matter. It's an extreme example, but illustrates my point quite well. An extremely light stick might work best for you, but for others like myself, there is a point where a stick becomes too light. Personally, I have found that the True A5.2 and Nexus 1000 have felt much lighter than the actually are because of how well balanced they are. On the flip side, my QX3 feels as heavy to me as a Supreme One.7, which is almost 100g heavier. The QX3 is not heavy, but it feels heavy when I use it because the balance point is too low for my liking.

Common. I described my issues to the neck ortho and basically said it is kind of numb, but kind of tingly and has a dull pain, all at the same time. He said that was not at all out of the ordinary because with nerve issues the nerve is sending weird signals to the brain.

Your friend should focus on balance rather than weight. I’ll take a balanced stick at 430 gr over a stick at 370 gr that has me nervous to carry the puck because it might snap. He might find a cheaper factory in China this way too.
