If your toes aren’t even touching the cap, the skates are way too big. Your skates should be hard against the cap before baking. They open up about a 1/2 size after baking. Based on what you wrote, you should try a size 6W

He's wrong. The width does change after a bake. The toe cap is literally a plastic shell/sleeve (flexible too) that covers the front part of the one piece boots which is also moldable. True skates don't have a junction between the toecap and boot which also benefits being able to punch out pretty much anywhere on the boot. If you look up how true skates are made you'll see what I mean.

Yeah, I don't like it either. Though, I do like it better than LA and Vegas's metallic helmets. What I DO like are the 3D logos on helmets, when they aren't ads instead.

The Canucks matte black helmets remind me of that one guy in every beer league with the old matte black Easton bucket that never looked good, usually paired with roller hockey pants and some skates from 20 years ago... it's a hard no from me.

Always test fit retail TRUE skates with a bake. Trying them on without baking will result in you getting the wrong size.

Guys, take it to PM's - all the purse swinging is cluttering up the thread .

Imagine having the extra time and disposable income to buy $1k+ custom skates you don’t want or need or even like just to endlessly complain about them before you get them, ignore advice to help them fit, and assert a bunch of unfounded assumptions, all so you can make some protracted internet argument, while lashing out at people offering advice and saying “you guys are all True fanboys, Bauer skates is the best 4eva.” It’s like when a child throws a tantrum about not wanting to eat a food that they’ve never even tried, but in those cases the child didn’t go out and spend a bunch of energy getting that food.

It's personal preference. Some people like their skates to fit properly and some like them a bit roomier aka half a size too big like you 😬. I'm being a cheeky c*nt but there's also nothing wrong with your preference. As for the donuts, other brands rely on the super thick ankle padding to conform and mold do your foot to create that customized fit. True doesn't rely solely on this. True customs do have thicker ankle padding though as I'm pretty sure it has to do with basing the boot off your foot scan and knowing exactly where to build the ankle bumps vs retails where it's probably more of a universal shape. If you look at Bauer and ccm retails these days, at least with the newer models it's literally thick ankle pads made of some kind of memory foam and there really isn't any depression built in. That's done bc it'll conform to any ankle shape. This is important especially for Bauer skates which are the least heat moldable out of the three big skate companies (true, Bauer, ccm).
