My daughter was voted the "C" on her U10 boys travel team last night. She wore an "A" last year & this is her 3rd year playing on this team, so not a huge surprise. That said, my girl receiving the votes to wear the "C" & represent her boys travel squad is pretty stinkin' neat. I'm VERY PROUD of her.

DEFENSE! I've been keen to play defense and learn the position and this fall league I'm two games in as a D-man. Holy smokes! I am LOVING IT!!!!

As well you should be!!! We had a talk with YoungerDaughter about what it would take to get selected as C for her Peewee team. (Be a role model, support the coach, encourage teammates, work hard) She's in a good position to at least get an A. My sweet spot for the day: I just got a FB reminder that I started playing adult hockey two years ago yesterday: Safe to say, I was hooked. Fully no ragrats. ;)

Oh, what the heck? Might as well essentially copy/paste this from Sports2K. I scored a pair of CCM Ribcors off eBay recently and decided to convert them into roller hockey skates. Took them all the way to Monkey Sports in New Jersey, though it looks like it was worth the trip. Apparently, they do conversions all the time. Going to be taking them out for their first spin tonight and I'm really excited about it.

After 15 years off the ice, I'm back at it. I must say you can get really nice gear for cheap these days. May lack in durability but not in protection. Here is my Bauer Set with Reactor 5000 pads and one.5 glove and blocker. I replaced the NME3 mask with a Profile 940. Didn't trust the NME3 with my brain and beautyfull face.
