  1. Of course they have different quarters and linings, they're at different price points! Yes, the 4.0 is noticeably stiffer than the 3.0, unproportionately so given that it's just one step up.
  2. I don't think you'll be the only one out there who will be confused lol Easiest way is to follow the line up from the X 30 (there will be people who will add the ':' colon and, in the process, confuse everyone else), which is similar to the X1.0/X:05 and go up from there. But it's weird because in the catalog, the X 40, which should be the equivalent to the X2.0/X:15, has copied the features list almost word for word from the X1.0. It's most likely going to be the case of the former comment as it lines up with the X100 = APX, X 90 = X7.0 relationships as you follow the line down. Also in this year's catalog, it says that the first skate in the line (going up) to have fully thermoformable uppers is the X 80, which is supposedly the X6.0 replacement. In last year's catalog, the first skate with that 'feature' was the X5.0 (X 70 this year?), but in practise, the X4.0s were stiff enough to be baked that I'd recommend doing those and very rarely did I get people baking 3.0s because they were so much softer. So perhaps this year it would be the same with the X 70-X 50 practically speaking.
  3. Interesting, surprising for me given that Bauer's been in hockey forever. Though if I think about it, current brands like Sherwood and Easton have held the stick market longer than Bauer has. Bauer's only shown success in the stick market within the past decade if I'm not mistaken.
  4. imho, Easton hasn't put out anything particularly innovative or groundbreaking in sticks since they introduced the elliptical taper on the S17s. regarding curves, the only consumers who seem to occasionally refer to the curve name by code number is with Bauer. I hear almost as many 'P88' or 'P92' references as 'Kane' or 'Backstrom'. Almost everyone refers to Warrior, Reebok, CCM and Easton patterns by player name.
  5. I saw that ad on Facebook, cool pickup.
  6. Ahh I see, thanks. Is this the first time that Warrior has brought down an NHL-spec cap down to retail? I know the 2011 and 2012 Projekt caps were pretty soft, but I didn't want to go around sticking pins in my/the store stock haha so I wasn't sure.
  7. Are the shoulder caps on the AX1 shoulder pads NHL-spec?
  8. What are the differences between the stick lines? Is there only going to be the GX4 in the shin/shoulder/elbows? Will the older models carry over? Those new color options are absolutely salivating...
  9. Ahaha, that sucks. Simple mistake. If you bought it online and if you have a retail store somewhere with those kinds of security tags, you could ask them to take it off for you. Bring your receipt obviously to avoid hassle.
  10. Why? Because they would see football helmet technology and think that it's about time they brought that over. Check out the catalog. The lure of new tech is a big selling point, same deal with the Re-Akt.
  11. That too, I'm a fan of DIY, those thoughts always jump out first lol
  12. Yeah I really hated the liner and hopefully it softens up for you. You can always swap out or cover up that liner with a different material if you like. The straps used to be a common feature, wish more pads had them.
  13. I don't normally show off, but yesterday's purchases had me over the moon! Vapor XXX Lite Jason Blake pro stock. 77 flex with a curve that's similar to the PM9 with a slightly shorter blade, slightly higher lie and slightly deeper mid pocket. Decided to check out a local SFS's Black Friday sale, not really looking to buy anything. Was absolutely floored by these Eric Staal 4Rolls. Completely unexpected. He's been my absolute favorite player of all time since I started following hockey! The shop also had Jordan's Penguins 4Rolls (too large for me at 15"), Leafs, Canucks, Oilers, Phoenix and a couple pairs of those Rangers 4Rolls with the added back roll padding. Amazing finds!
  14. Welcome! Great gloves and helmet. Stick around here long enough and you'll be wanting to upgrade everything, be careful!
  15. I don't get the point of buying pro stock items for personal use if they don't fit or if the specs are wrong (like for sticks). If you can't use them properly and comfortably, what's the point? To look cool? Not to pick on anyone in particular, just an opinion from observation.
  16. Those retail higher end 4Rolls (tan Nash palms I think) were really stiff lol.
  17. I was implying that point, though I haven't heard of anything outstanding on those memory pads and not having a pair, wouldn't really know how long it would take or if it really works. If I can get a new pair of CL gloves for cheap though, I'd like to bake them as well and try.
  18. I wonder if you could bake gloves as you would in a skate oven and wear them fists curled for about 5 min to really take minimize some break in time and to take advantage of those memory foam cushions in the T1 fingers...
  19. Refusing to put out a product that doesn't meet standards and values of the company. Completely understandable and commendable!
  20. Those are for the Jr Kings that Easton has been showing off in their recent promo videos. Not a bad deal for $90, especially for that colorway!
  21. They've changed the 'Stealth' fit with the RS as opposed to previous S15s and S17s. New definition. I find the RSs closer to Supreme than old Stealths.
  22. Agreed, make sure to stock up on thread too!
  23. I assume standard skate convectional oven, correct? I'm reading about people baking them at home as well and am kind of confused.
  24. Do you think IW jumped the gun once again? Or collectively and not only them?
