Yes, it is Tommy Wingels. He switched out after coming off injured reserved. Looking to do a conversion of my old VHs with some Sprung frames. Anyone do this yet? I've seen the Marsblade frames on VHs but have heard there are durability issues with those frames for league play.

Bauer ReAkt Titanium Cage (Size Medium) on a Medium Bauer 4500 Length of use: 1 Year 6 months Player profile 5’8” 165, 2-4 times per week, rink employee/beer leaguer Previous face shields used: Itech Titanium Cage 908ti, CCM FM580, Bauer 5100, and Bauer Concept 3 Fit 10/10 Vision The sightlines through the smoke colored cage were clear. I had no issues as I did with my FM580 but that is fairly subjective. The oval shape seemed to help with my field of vision. Chin cup I normally have to replace my chin cups because they slide up fairly easy. This was not the case with the Poron XRD chin cup. The fit has been nice and snug. Protection 10/10 I have taken a couple high sticks and a skate blade to the mask and it has been a non-issue. A couple nicks here and there but still structurally sound. Weight 10/10 This is probably the biggest selling point for this cage. I was looking for something comparable to my Itech 908ti and this fits the bill. Durability 10/10 I have had no issues in a year and a half of use. Intangibles 8/10 The biggest issue for most is the price. It is roughly double the cost of an average cage, but if weight matters to you in facial protection, this piece of equipment is worth it. Conclusion There are a number of things in hockey that are considered “game-changers.” Equipment that allows you to play better is one of those things and the Reakt is such a product. 9.5/10

CCM CL 500 Gloves Size 13 Black Length of use: 3 months Player profile 5’8” 165 pounds, 2-4 times per week, rink employee/beer leaguer hand type- skinny, low volume, longer fingers Previous gloves used: Warrior Luxe, Warrior Projekt, Bauer Vapor Line Fit 10/10 A very tapered fit. The fit is very snug along the fingers, especially at the finger-tips. I have thoroughly enjoyed that. The smaller gussets at the finger-tips have been very beneficial. It has proven difficult to find a glove with that type of fit, because my hands are so skinny. The wrist mobility has been great as the glove opens at the cuff. Protection 8/10 I have only taken slashes to the gloves but no pucks. The ufoams have held up well. They have done their job thus far. They are what you would expect from a top end CCM glove at that price-point. I have had issues with the pro-flex thumb as I have jammed my thumb a couple times. Weight 10/10 The lightest glove I have used by far. It has the bulk of a low end, entry-level glove, but with the protection of a high end product. Well done. Durability 5/10 The pro-feel nash palms have shown wear very quickly. They have not held up well, compared to my other gloves. There are also parts of the glove where the stitching has come loose. The backhand padding and nylon exterior have held up well. I must say I do not like their Dri-lex liners. They have held a lot of moisture and because they are black, stain easy. Intangibles 7/10 The CCM CL500s are less expensive than its high-end competitors with similar fit types. Its shortcomings make it evident why. These gloves also come with very limited selection in colors. Conclusion Overall, these are a solid buy. These are the first gloves I have come across where fit was not an issue whatsoever. That says a lot. Despite a couple issues with durability, I would buy this glove again. I would look into the purchase of the CS 400 also since the price points are so drastic, but the level of protection is similar. OVERALL SCORE 8/10

What skates are you in now? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it to try these out. I have super narrow feet as well. 703 Narrows.

I wonder if these would work or how they would work with someone (like me) who have very low volume fit, like a Graf 703 Narrow. It seems like a number who have baked the MLXs believe they fit like slippers afterward. Is there a consensus on foot shape/type yet?

I believe it is so the flag would seem centered while the hands are on the hockey stick, allowing it to be more prominent. At least that is what I would tell myself if I just dropped a whole mess of bills on some gloves.

Yeah. That's the thing that will get ya. I was speaking with a guy from my lhs and he recommended red star chassis. Not sure how easy it is to find them nowadays but may be worth a shot. Not even sure they would work but that's what he recommended. I'll snap a pic of my soles tomorrow to show you. They line up pretty well.

Sure. I've only used them for two games, but so far so good. I'll update in this thread: http://www.modsquadh...-from-graf-g3s/ But here are some helpful tips from my mistakes: 1. You have to find a chassis with a wide sole plate otherwise portions of it will be mounted to the fabric portion of the graf sole, making it unstable. a. I tested out the Mission aluminium vanguards and the suregrips 400s and neither worked. 2. Use graf mountings screws ( long screws in the back, short screws in the front) 3. The mounting holes from the graf holders don't line up, so it would help to epoxy with loctite before mounting your new chassis.
