    No, I unlace to the bottom fifth eyelet and take about 10 minutes to get the skates on. I get bruises on the tops of my feet putting the skates on because the eyelet vamping is too small for my foot even when heated and rolled out. Needless to say I don't skate in them much.

    Yeah, they'll have you glue it back into place. This is extremely common. Using a shoehorn to put the skates on completely eliminates the possibility of doing that to the skate, though.

    Looks like the cap is plastic and wraps onto the side to cut down on abrasions to the boot.

    This topic is getting embarrassing. If you're not willing to pay for the skates, don't buy them. If you are, buy them! In either case, your opinions are your own and can stay that way. Stop attempting to crucify the owners of a small, hand-made skate company because you disagree with their pricing structure.

    Never use a pealess whistle. I skated with an NHL official's son who jokingly showed us that whistle -- it's awful. Nobody uses them.
