  1. I loved the CCM P30, but since it is not super aggressive in any way and just subtle in all categories, I guess it was not a big seller and has since been discontinued. I took a look at the P90TM in store today. It looks decent'ish, may be worth a try, but does not seem to be it. Just looking at blade pattern charts, the Sherwood PP14 looks perfect, but has that been discontinued? I cannot find it on any sites. I am not opposed to going the ProStockHockey route if anyone has a link to a stick that is a P30 clone. I am RH, 95 flex.
  2. I have never tried on Ribcor but I was considering them as a next skate, so I am familiar with the confusion. It is my understanding that although they are low volume, they are the most accommodating/ pliable to baking. So, it is a bit confusing, take it for what it's worth.
  3. Does anyone know which RH pros are using P90TM? I may try to find a pro stock. I was hoping to grab the P90TM when it comes to retail, but the lack of maximum height bothers me. I like a short, tall blade so I can make contact once in awhile with pucks bouncing around in front of the net on rebounds. The extra weight does not bother me, and I figure it is more than made up for if I can find a blade short in length. I was using the P30 and loved it, but I my sticks are all bashed up pretty good (mostly from defensemen aggressively lifting and chopping down on my stick when I am standing in front of the net) and I need a new one.
  4. Yea I was under the impression that this was coming to retail. Perhaps I was mistaken. I hope it is still coming.
  5. Does anyone know the scoop on this? I got tied up with some stuff and have been out of the game since I was all amped up and calling CCM on the daily back at this time. My stick is getting creaky and I need . new one, and want to try this curve if anyone knows an approximate release date. (Or should I just call CCM again?)
  6. Got an email from CCM that theP30 is being discontinued. They did not say when the last batch would be put on sticks. I am cool with this; I think the P90TM will be better anyway.
  7. The blade height of the Warrior at the hell looks tallest. Is this the case? Which one is that? The P28 pro stock?
  8. I’m curious about the length of the P90T. I consider the P30 to be a short blade lengthwise. Once I get to medium length (P88) I find that stickhandling becomes a bit more challenging. i think the P28 is also a short blade lengthwise; I just don’t like how (as mentioned) the kink starts so close to the heel. Not only does it give a small area for backhands, but catching passes on the heel becomes a bit of a problem for me when moving and trying to time when the puck will hit the “wall” (and not the ramp) of the blade face. I have watched better players; they don’t seem to suffer from these nuances that plague hacks such as myself- but these are issues I need to consider when studying the curves for potential purchase. This P90T keeps sounding better and better.
  9. Just called again to inquire about the P90T and P90TM. I thought he said “expect something next year,” which I thought meant the line AFTER Ribcor since I heard Ribcor is possibly launching new sticks in November. Then the rep said “These new patterns may be on the Ribcor.” So I think he may have said “expect something IN the next year.” My phone is all jacked up from the vibrations of the tank of my motorcycle, so I miss words a lot. Anyway ... I asked some specific questions and the rep could not answer in specifics - all good I get it. He just said “look around online and stay tuned” pretty much so it sounds like CCM has some exciting stuff in the works as far as blade patterns go.
  10. I did not ask about the P90TM. Also forgot to ask about what the pro stock P30 name is, and who uses it in RH @ 95 flex.
  11. I called CCM this morning. The rep that I spoke with said that they are not getting rid of the P30. We went over the upcoming release of the Ribcor 4 and the sticks down the line. On the top of the line sticks, they are making it with P30. Somewhere down the line, either on the lower value sticks or intermediates or somewhere that I was not really interested in, the rep said that they will not launch P30s. I think he said it was just P28, P29 and P88 on those sticks that had nothing to do with me (but don't quote me on that, I may have gotten it wrong). Regardless, on the sticks that I am interested in (the Pro that is usually about $150/$160), and the one underneath that that is usually about $100), we will see P30 on the 75, 85, and 95 flexes. This is great news! (Thank you, CCM!!!)
  12. Is the P90T the same as the P90TM? And is the P90TM a CCM exclusive?
  13. Has anyone used the BASE BC14? It looks an awful lot like the P30. Can anyone who has used or has familiarity with both, comment on the differences? I found the BASE curves (including BC14) here in case anyone is looking: https://us.basehockey.ca/collections/blades/products/blade-senior
  14. @Stephen7 Got a P30 in the works? I hope that this rumor proves to be false, as I am pretty much attached to nothing in life, except the P30 on the end of my hockey stick. Just in case this is true though, I need to start keeping my eyes open.
  15. I had that feeling for the last 6 months or so that I played (August-December 2018), after a good 5 year run of playing all the time from about 2013-2018. I was forced to take a break when I moved and had a gear failure that I never repaired/ replaced, and am starting to get the itch to play again now. So yea, this 9 month break or so is having me feel reborn! (and thanks to @SkateWorksPNW, I am getting that piece of gear on Monday, gifted via the MSH brotherhood. About to go get my skates sharpened and shoot some pucks (dryland) at HockeyMonkey in a bit, figure I will be on the ice within a week.
  16. Touche. I will also say, that I hate the Bruins so much, that I actually tune in when I might not otherwise, just to root for them to lose (2014 series vs. PIT, and 2014 SCF vs Blackhawks, plus this series vs. TBL). So, perhaps the NHL knows what it is doing by letting guys like Marchand get away with his antics. I could be biased too because I went to some playoff games (1988 maybe?) during the NJ Devils first Cup run, pre-Brodeur/ Stevens/ etc, around 1988, and I recall the Bruins goonery was strong in that series, so yea I have been forever influenced. I had not really chosen a team yet, I just enjoyed hockey at the time and naturally supported the home team (NJ Devils).
  17. I like the 1S better than the Super Tacks, but I did not give it an honest try until I already decided on the Super Tacks. It's not that big a deal that I was gonna throw another $200 at it now, but when the 1S goes on clearance +30% off, then I may just grab it.
  18. I guess my point was that a Medium in Super Tacks, due to the adjustability features, may work for length in the legs. I just remembered, that I tried on a Medium Super Tacks, it felt great in the hips and legs. I have a lot of extra waist compared to @Dangles83 as I am a 36-38 waist. The only are I felt the Medium Super Tacks lacking was it was too low in the upper girdle (kidney protection) area and did not come up high enough for my liking. The Large came up higher, and I could wrap the extra material around my waist fine with the Large. Not sure if @Dangles83 will be able to do this with a Large @Dangles83 Did you try the Supreme 1S? Or, not looking to spend a car payment on a girdle (can't blame ya). I think Bauer is better for slim and fit types, wheres CCM is more for athletic to bigger. I am a Medium in Bauer 1S (amazingly- I was shocked as I figured I would be Large to XL).
  19. Sure the officiating went the way of TBL in Game 3. But, due to the way that BOS plays some may say physical, some may say dirty. I have no problem with physical, which I see as a hard body check on a puck carrier- but dirty is checking non puck carriers and all the incessant slashing- I think that Boston does this more than other teams, by design and in a calculated fashion in the playoffs because they know they will get away with it- and I think that they are right, and they generally do get away with more than what they get called for. For example: In today's Game, the hit from Kreiji on Killorn at the end of the second period. Really? It's playoff hockey, and it's the Bruins, so they let it go. How about after the Cirelli potential penalty shot trip, as he approached a loose puck on an empty neck. After the penalty, and after he got up (and approached the boards), he got late hit and boarded by 2 guys. Playoff hockey, and it's the Bruins, so no call. And it was late I guess, and a penalty had already been called on the trip so fine. But what, a non-puck carrier, with his back to the puck, just getting up and gaining composure, is fair game to be targeted? Where is Player Safety in this? In Game 2, I think that Paquette or some grinder on TBL dumped the puck. It hit Krug or some BOS D man in the helmet- maybe intentional, maybe an accident. Regardless, it was a WEAK hit to the helmet, definitely not a penalty, and Krug takes offense and slashes the guy as he goes in to chase the dumped puck. How do the refs miss that? It was so clearly a slash and should have been a penalty. This was the guys on the puck, no excuse to miss that call. Game 1, Marchand blatantly crosschecks Point in the back, as Point makes an innocent pass out of his D zone. Again, how do the refs not see this? And was the Marchand Vulcan neck pinch in game 1 or 2? And all the licking in the TOR series? How does he get away with this? He's a repeat offender and the NHL has the film. Why? Is this good for the game? Is this what the NHL is all about, and/or what the fans want to see? I also saw the Stralman slash on Marchand when he was on a breakaway. Sure, that should have been a call. The refs missed it. Maybe they thought, "it is Marchand, and he is getting slashed, does not compute does not compute does not compute what do we do?" The only other time that I have seen a team aside from the Bruins get away with consistently egregious dirty/ constantly slashing./ constantly roughing guys up well after the play, was during the NYR cup run in 2014, when the NYR targeted Giroux and just punished him every time he touched the puck, often late after he passed. Playoff hockey? I guess. That was the same year that John Moore got a multiple game suspension for what looked like a basic hit on a guy speeding through the neutral zone, where Moore's shoulder happened to meet the guy's head since Moore is 6'3, and the other guy was shorter and had his head down. Anyway, I digress. The point is, that I think the game would be better if the refs just shut down what I feel the Bruins are known for, and get away with more than anyone else, across the board (starting with Boston). Full disclosure- I have absolutely hated the Bruins since I was a kid, and am a NYR fan. I like TBL because they got alot of my favorite NYR guys, and how can one not like Stamkos, Kucherov, Hedman. and Palat They are skilled and classy and are not up to any antics- they just play hard and play well- with style, skill and class. I can't say that about the BOS teams over the years. BOS teams play hard; I will give them that. Anyway yea I am biased as can be so there lol.
  20. I am 6'1, in a Large in the Super Tacks, and the legs are definitely long enough.
  21. FWIW, I have the Resistance and the Resistance 300 (one for each place that I play at). I thought that both were great, but just recently, I have been noticing pressure points. on the right and left sides of my forehead. I have a narrow head (Icon Airframe Pro for motorbike, and most helmets give me the same feeling that I just noticed the Resistance giving me). So, I think that the Resistance shape is more round than suits me- not the fault of the helmet; I bought it because I liked its depth, and I have not really found a proper intermediate oval helmet, until ... The Tacks seemed to fit my head better when I tried it on at the store. The 310 seemed softer in the store, not sure if the 710 will soften up when it breaks in or what. Next helmet is definitely the 310 or 710. If I had not spent so much on the 2 Resistance helmets then I would already be in a Tacks; I just do not like taking losses on gear (and I do not like paying shipping so yea, just gonna stick with the Resistance buckets for now).
  22. That Barkov looks alot like CCM's retail P30 (which I am still loving). Can anyone elaborate on the difference that has seen/tried both?

    CCM Tacks 7092

Recent Stick History: STX Surgeon RX2.1, Warrior QR Pro, Easton Mako shaft with Warrior blades 6'2, 215 lbs Position/ style- Winger/ JVR- I like to stand in front of the goalie, create a problem for the opposing D men, and try to deflect shots and knock home rebounds. I can fire some wristers too, when opportunity presents. Definitely not a dangler, not a great skater, but I am strong enough and have an athletic background. Sometimes I put my whole body into my shots, which slows my release. Other times, I like to shoot without any load, which makes for a weaker shot but a quicker/ more masked release. CCM Tacks 7092 P30 75 Flex Grip After having been through about 10 blade patterns (Easton Igninla retail, P88 Kane, P28 Yakupov, P92 Backstrom, PM9 Stamkos, Base BC71 Malkin Pro, Sheiffele pro stock shaved down at the toe), in the last couple of years, I saw the IceWarehouse CCM P30 blade video. I had to question if I was dreaming, as I often thought that a P88/P28 hybrid would be perfect for me (which it turns out to be). I had heard great things about the Tacks sticks- specifically the Ultra tacks, and then saw that the 2.0 line was going back to some Ultra Tacks features (like the soft handle), so I gave the stick a try. Blade/Feel: Incredible. I have never enjoyed a stick with terrific puck feel (I heard that certain sticks had good feel, just never tried them), as I have never splurged on a top-of-the-line stick (either go one down from top, or 2 piece). This blade is crisp. I do not like a dampened feel, and I have never felt pingy. This blade is also very stiff, which I like, as I am 6'2, 215 lbs and work out alot. So, when I feel that I have flexed the blade, and then the puck does funny things, I am not happy. This blade is always reliable. When a pass hits the blade, it makes a "crack" sound as when a wooden bat hits a baseball, and the feedback in the hands is perfect as well. I know the puck has arrived, but there is no vibration, and it just gives a nice feel into my hands. I think that the blade is last year's top of the line Super Tacks or Ultra Tacks blade. I would love to try the 2.0 blade, as I can only imagine it must be better (or perhaps not, and I am just speculating), 10/10 Shaft: I had not used a mid kick, so this was a bit of an adjustment at first. (Now, I struggle with using my QRL pro stock low kick.) The mid kick, coupled with the soft handle and stiff hosel, does not seem to make me lose any speed of release on wrist shots. Everything is much more accurate though, since I feel I can control the blade a little better, when the stick is flexing in my hands, instead of way down at the blade. This is more a Cosmic/ relationship with low kick and mid kick issue, than a Cosmic relationship with this 7092 Tacks stick in particular. As I never used a mid kick before, I did not really know what to expect. Everything seems good now that I have adjusted. Just a note, that I added an internmediate STX Surgeon RX2 end plug, to give me a more natural finger wrap on my top hand. When I have an STX Surgeon RX2 or this extension as the end plug, then I pretty much catch every routine pass. With a traditional T shaft geometry in my top hand, catching easy passes can quickly become a trainwreck. 9/10 Flex: When this stick was fresh out of the box, the flex seemed perfect. However, once I "broke the stick in," (fired a ton of shots, and compromised the integrity of the fibers- standard for any stick that I get my hands on), and have since used it in a couple of competitive games, it is now too whippy. My fault. I heard that it was a stiff stick, so I went admittedly low on flex. I should go either 85 or 95, and will likely buy both in the near future, and figure out which one suits me best. No rating really necessary- the stick flexes where it is supposed to flex, it rips shots, and it does what it is supposed to to. For casual outings, I think the 75 ought to continue to work for me. For more intense games, I think I need 85/95 flex. Weight: I think the weight is around 450-460, pretty ok'ish for this price point. Very well balanced, so it is hard to tell the difference between this and my pro stock QRL, if I have my eyes closed. 9.25/10 Shooting: It is hard to separate the P30 blade pattern from anything having to do with shooting. In order to do so, I would need a bunch of sticks with the P30, so I can rate the different sticks. I think that Tthe blade pattern (P30) makes my shots spot on. I literally scored about 15-20 goals in pickup a couple of nights ago (it was 2 hours, and we had 2 subs, and for whatever reason, the other team's speed, that had subs, was mirroring our team speed). So, just having time to get to where I wanted to shoot, pick a spot, and then get the puck past goalies from spots in close enough (15-25 feet) that they had no chance to react, says something for the accuracy features, as well as the power and quick release that this stick offers. A couple of nights later, in a competitive game, I do not even think I got any shots on net, because I was leaning on the stick so hard (to prevent stick lifts) that I was noodling it and could not control passes or get my shots off. This was when I realized that I need a higher flex. Again, not the fault of the stick, just my own failure to know ahead of time, how this stick would react to the full force of my weight on it. 9.5/10 Durability: After 1 skate, I noticed some little dents in my first stick's blade. I contacted CCM Warranty, they sent me a 2nd stick, and said "keep the first stick." (Thank you again, CCM) No dents in either stick since then, and both are going strong. 9.25/10 Verdict: This is a great all around stick. I have really no feedback for how to improve. My main intention of writing this review, is to provide CCM people reading this form, feedback on how the P30 is working with this stick. Love the blade pattern, the stiffness of the blade itself, and the soft upper handle and mid kick, and how everything ties together. All of these are new features for me, and they seem to be working harmoniously. The only issue that I am having is dialing in my flex, but anyone who knows me (Farmer's walks with 100 pound dumbells in each hand, leg press with 7-45 pound plates on each side, lat pulldowns with the entire rack, pushups with a Swiss ball under my hands, and another under my feet, etc.), and sees the 75 flex always responds the same way, "Are you serious? You need 90-100 flexx!" What I have learned, is that in low intensity games (where I am shooting with lazy mechanics, and not leaning hard on my stick), this flex is indeed pretty much perfect. However, in higher intensity games, this stick is noodling under the force on my leaning into it on stickhandling and shooting. Regardless, this stick is pretty much perfect, with the slight modification that I make, to accommodate my my lack of hands: the Surgeon RX2 end plug). Most guys like the T shaft geometry though, so this is more of an issue of mine, than an issue with the stick.
