when you have two little punks who love playing hockey. AND you get to coach them at the clinics. Lest we forget about the MATCHING mesh (JR size) sock santa stuffed into their stockings... and when your oldest's "number 8" sweater automatically tucks itself in... #HOCKEYFLOW (yeah, thats a flag on the back of his bucket. 'Murica!) -
Played open on monday with a dude using the old Cooper bucket, with a new easton cage. (I wanted to ask him in he got it from Mr. Messier) The cooper cage prolly rotted off. and this helmet looked rode hard, and put up wet. tons of marks on and s**t on it. and just a touch yellow. Spoke to him after, just like a lot of guys out there, just getting back into the game after a long time off.

vented about this guy last week: Wore white today, D'ed up on him and poked it away 4 or 5 times and just really made him play as hard as he could. I won some he won some. but I played WAY better against him then with him. and put two past his tendy. -
went to a new pickup / drop in the other day. had a guy (my side, playing D) yelling like it was game 7! "come on Burnzy! you're killing us!!!" ...dude, relax.

going back through this thread i see you and i use the same barber... I use these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UR4HLOM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (yes, i only have the stars & stripes one) they work pretty well, i played thursday in a new place that was really hot! (like i could feel the heat blasting down on me in certain spots of the rink) and i didn't get any sweat in my eyes. which used to happen a year ago, when i started playing even in the coldest of rinks. they do the whole "wicking thing" and evaporate the sweat from your head before it trickles down. they're super thin, and only need to be adjusted once of twice a game, if i smash into a wall... someone... the net... the ice... for 10 bucks its worth a dry.

the Fall/Winter season starts tonight (ugh our game starts at 10:30) This is the first Fall/Winter season for me with the team I played spring and summer with. (replied to an ad on a bulletin board for the local newspaper's website. This November will mark the one year anniversary of buying all new gear and getting back on the ice. The back story: played in middle school, into early high school. Broke my femur as a sophomore in 1986, and didn't really play again until last year. (had a short 2 game season in '93 then was ban from that rink after hanging out with the wrong crowd) and here was my first post here that got like NO feedback: Geez look at me down there, what a johnny tryhard i sound like @DarkStar50 did point me in the right direction and @michaelRich heard me talking at work about playing more, and got me out to an open hockey session i would have never known about thanks to the MSH gang for all the help and support over this last year. -

those are some fine looking hogs. i grew up in a butcher shop, so i only usually saw them after slaughter. my oldest boy is pestering me for a mini pig. (yes i know, very chichi animal these days) I'll have to show him your pics of a REAL hog and tell him he can have one when he can handle it, like your girls can :D -

HA! i have to wear a "concert tee" to my games too. been doing it from the early days. Usually Maiden and Priest shirts back then. Now its more Blackberry Smoke, The Sword, or Clutch. with the Maiden shirt coming out for playoffs
-
look at all that frost on the outside of that wall!!!! i can just imagine how nice the ice must be in the INSIDE of that rink. meanwhile, the edges of my rinks are like a blackholes three inches from the walls and THANK YOU for wearing a Ramones shirt in the middle east!

after a year of playing in the RBZs I upgraded to the 48k's just wish i could get the holders in black too... who knew I was a 7.5 skate size, I was skating in a 9 for the last year.

there truly is NOTHING better then playing hockey with your kids. these are my two goons, and I'd play with them everyday if it was possible... one of our local rinks does "family hockey" which usually turns into Dads vs Lads. its the best 2 hour skates I ever have. -
for those of you who saw the shame of me with my wheeled bag at Summer Jam, i wanted to let you know i've finally man'ed up and took this little sweetie home. thinking it a good bag for a guy like myself.

FIRST MSH Summer Jam! -
I was laid off yesterday. :/ (After 4.5 year) then freaked out about having to interview again, ran to the barber, and took 6+ inches off the beard. (full disclosure, i was looking for a new job anyway since the Co. was faltering. but its nicer to find a job while you still have one.) bright side, i should have enough severance to carry me thru Summer Jam :) oh how i miss worki... err, my beard.
