  1. Late comment since you've acquired new elbows, but regarding the U+ Pro, had ordered and returned a pro stock version for my son, feedback was it felt stiffer and less mobile than the lower model Fit 09, in part due to the additional features (covered stretch zones, extra rubber in the inner sleeve) mentioned the respective IW youtube videos. Considered keeping the U+ Pro for myself, but on me, they felt less comfortable than my low end 2-piece RBK Silver Series elbows.
  2. Does anyone know when the titanium Bauer III cage will be released? It's in the 2023 catalog.
  3. Did this too when I got a good deal on a prior gen top-line stick which got even hotter as the price went lower, ended up with 4 of the same all for $400 CAD. Never was able to replicate so now all my sticks are random singles.
  4. I'm still fine in IMS 7.0, but for new I'd be looking at Reakt 150 for my Stewie head.
  5. Using the CCM Game on mask with Bauer cage, with glasses it works fine while actively moving, but annoying fog when at rest. Has me thinking about contacts again to minimize that, but currently a moot point as we've locked down again for 3 weeks.
  6. +1. Even in lowest level beer league, I've experienced what I thought were sneaky slewfoots or players going out of their way to deliver a shove/shot away from the play. CCM U+ Pro pro stock with beefed up biceps, CCM 20K elbows, pants w/ better spine guard for those games, otherwise, lower end Reebok 5K-level shoulder and elbow pads.
  7. Original Cascade M11 w/ Bauer 9500 cage. Fits me like a glove with zero pressure points, so I have 3 variants/colours.
  8. Yep, 1N/N9000 were the last that came in a junior 13". Generations prior to 1N (e.g., 8000 and 1000) in 13" were classified as senior at the time from a marketing perspective, but I don't think they were physically larger (in fact, I read here on MSH that 1N increased in width over those generations).
  9. Not giant, but round head here, I have the IMS 7.0 medium helmet. Came across the new True Dynamic 9 Pro at Sportchek. Somewhat unique concept, as there seems to be no front-to-back nor width adjustment of the outer shell, just different pad thicknesses of the "floating" inner Mips liner. Size-wise, for width, I couldn't even get a medium size past my temples, but the large was just a little snug using the 6mm Fitpads and with glasses on. A bit too much play front and back on the large with the 10mm occipital Fitpad. Didn't want to rip open the extra bag of Fitpads to try, as I'm not in the hunt for a new bucket, but using the 2mm side Fitpads and 15mm on the rear, this could be a viable alternative for me. Worth trying for Stewie Griffin types.
  10. Here too, along with M90 shins & shoulders (most likely elbows as well). SC also has Sherwood practice jerseys priced the same as the CCM 5000's and 6000's.
  11. Always preferred U-shaped openings, so I considered the Warrior Q10 and the Warrior Q20 more heavily over the Warrior Pro carry bags. Not too expensive but loads of organization features. Over 25 years, I went through 2 old-school bags with the triangular skate pockets on the outside similar to this Hespeler, about $40 CDN per bag IIRC. No one seems to make this style anymore except for maybe Tackla, so I got the Bauer Vapor Pro carry bag this past season for $66 CDN. WRT to the original question, for someone value-conscious (e.g., cheap) like myself, likely not worth paying a premium, but to each their own.
  12. By coincidence was visiting Vancouver at the end of March and Sportchek Metrotown had a matte black E700 w/ white cage and glossy black E600 w/ chrome cage on clearance, but did not take notice of the size and the picture I took is too fuzzy to make out the cage size. Not available online, but you could try asking Sportchek online customer service about which stores might still have the combos and/or just the matte black E700 helmet. Or go into any physical SC store and have an employee check their portal for Canada-wide inventory. SKU's were 331327097, 331169918, and 331156966 respectively. A Canadian Tire store can also check inventory at other locations too. Per mickz's post, their website shows Grandview & Boundary location has lots of E600 combos in large and medium black.
  13. I wear 32" in jeans, and squeeze into a 2440 46 regular since I am short. I can bring the pants up over my hips snugly without issue, however, when I lace up the pants, though, I can't fully bring the opposing lace holes within 2 inches of each other, so I think a 48 short would have been the ideal fit given my gut. If you are closer to a 34, then perhaps go with the 50. Jean sizing is so variable from one manufacturer to another, or even from one model to another (at the waist, below the waist) - it's a tough call so I hope others who are closer to your size can share their experience. I once tried to figure out Euro sizing, so maybe try this: take your natural waist measurement (smallest part of your mid-section) in inches, divide by 2, multiply by 2.54 and round up. A few years ago, the doctor's office measured my natural waistline at 36, so 36 / 2 * 2.54 = 45.72, or size 46 (I may have put a few pounds on since then).
  14. I use 9500/9900/IMS 11 size L cages on my Cascade M11/Bauer IMS 7.0 medium helmets. IIRC, when trying a size L Reakt cage with the medium size helmets, I could fit the cage into the J-clips, but the cage ended up squeezing the helmet and creating pressure on the temple area. In my situation, it was the large Reakt cage that wasn't wide enough for the medium helmet. If your concern is the reverse, e.g., the medium cage being too wide for the small helmet, I don't think you have to worry much. Unfortunately medium 9500/9900/IMS 11 cages are really rare, none on ebay at this time, otherwise I'd suggest trying those.
  15. Similar head shape, currently in Bauer IMS 7.0 (formerly Cascade M11), which is no longer made, but you might find one on clearance somewhere. Its "replacement", the Reakt 75, seems to fit narrower. You might be able to make do with the IMS 11.0. Also have tried on Krown, which also seemed to fit well without pinching the temples.
