  1. That's a first. The AS1 boot and CCM steel are neutral in overall design. The TRUE skate is going to be pitched much more aggressively. I have never heard the opposite form anyone so you are definitely the first. In fact, I had a player who switched to TRUE from a pair of AS1 and had to switch back because he could not get accustomed to the pitch in the boot no matter what we did to his steel.
  2. Very interesting. Ill cut it today and weight the end. I use 57" length shaft anyways so seeing the weight savings of the 7" will be interesting.
  3. Interesting. Good to know. But even still, that cannot account for more than 10-15 grams of weight total. Not such a significant difference. Any thoughts there?
  4. My understanding is any flex over 85 is now being made with a longer shaft at most manufacturers and its no longer a fused extension. I could be wrong though, but that's how the Warrior sticks are built. Maybe I'll take apart this ADV and see.
  5. Had a chance to tinker with a pro stock Bauer ADV wrapped as a 1X Lite and the first thing I noticed was it didn't weight the same as an ADV and felt heavier, it was very apparent as soon as I picked it up. I weighed it and uncut 64", without tape, it tipped the scale at 410 grams. Significantly heavier than an ADV. This doesn't seem normal? I know for sure it's an ADV as I got it from a Bauer Rep and it has the BGP2P code and the ADV green marking on the lower part of the stick. What gives? I know some pro stock sticks can vary in weight (up or down) depending on the blade the player uses and such, but 60 grams difference is significant.
  6. The girdle sizing is more about height/length than overall width for fitment. That being said some offer more adjustment than others. For example, the CCM Super tacks girdle offers a ton of adjustment while the Warrior girdle does not. TRUE has a girdle that offers a decent compromise in adjustment. Pictures are below:
  7. Diamond wheels on the SkatePal, and we are using custom 80 grit Ruby wheels on the AS units. While I like the idea of having more SkatePal units the cost for a machine that is not going to be constantly used outweighs the overall value. Hence why I was considering Sparx units.
  8. I would like to know who here owns or works at a Pro Shop that uses Sparx? We are looking at adding a few machines to our lineup when the season is busy or during tournaments and they keep pushing us toward the PS units but the volume is so low I think the ES unit makes more sense. We are looking at maybe 60 sharpens a month on two machines, so 30 per machine. I don't see why we would need or want a PS unit...? We currently have 3 ProSharp machines, and an older triple head BladeMaster. The main issue with the BladeMaster is the younger kids aren't reliable enough to sharpen by hand so I am trying to find a better alternative.
  9. You can use some extra strength goof off on a rag. That should take it off without damaging the plastic toe cap. As with everything, test a small area first.
  10. I would stick with the same size as you currently wear. I have the QR Edge pants and the Warrior Covert QRE Pro girdle and use the same size on both. Same with the TRUE girdle well.
  11. Depending on your current pant style (tapered, anatomical, traditional) it could either be the same size or you might want to go a size up.
  12. The TRUE girdle has velco adjustments on the legs which the Warrior girdle doesn't. I would say this is more like a Warrior girdle V2.0 if anything. Also, yes, it has a pocket for a cup/jock/jill. It weighs slightly more than the Warrior girdle but has significantly more protection. It is lighter than the Super Tacks girdle.
  13. What did you want to know about it?
  14. Massive Blade TIN for Tuuk LS Edge.
  15. https://www.hockeymonkey.com/true-hockey-girdle-shell-xc-9-pro-sr.html
  16. But the IMS 9.0 I wear a small size, in a standard Re-Akt 75/95/150/200 I wear a medium.
  17. What do you want to know about it? Our store has them. They are very nice!
  18. I agree, the XS is currently my favorite holder but if these are as rigid and durable as promised I might be swayed to using them on skates other than my TRUE. I do wonder with how short the steel is, if it will break. I had this happen today...
  19. Here ya go. New holder, steel, tongue, and 6K carbon weave.
  20. Good point, not sure about the durability and such. You are likely correct about the inability to service them. Also, I doubt they will make aftermarket steel an option anytime soon, if ever, so those players who prefer to use Flare or something other than STEP, are left behind. I wish everyone switched to a symmetrical design. It just seems silly to have left and right holders.
