Anyone try the Powerfly holders yet?
Left Wing King replied to pucks_putts's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Got it! Just making sure, believe me I've asked about 5 people for this answer, plus some Google research. Thanks to all who have responded! -
Anyone try the Powerfly holders yet?

The steels have been sharpened, having a quick look online, apparently there is no left and right. Just want to make sure before I fall flat on my face! -

As a skate steels n00b, I have had to buy Bauer skates (M50 Pro) and the steels are purchased separate. How do I know which steel is left and right, without obviously trying it on at the rink! TIA -
Surely they can send a 'wrap' for the kit men to stick on? Spray them black, stick it over the top? He might be like Phaneuf though who liked a new pair every two weeks anyway
-
I know that, but all I have ever heard is True fit the best, most comfy etc. I was almost hoping for, the same experience
-
I am coming from a Bauer Nexus EE and I wear office socks in my skates, but if I'm feeling that ridge, I imagine everyone else can. I'd imagine after a few shifts it would start cutting circulation to the toes.
-
Yes, they were warmed up.
-
Tried the Hazardous ones on today, my God they're horrible, the tongue thing digging into the top of your toes, even an EE fit isn't that wide compared to a Bauer out of the box
-
With the skates that have returned under that warranty, what do True actually do with them?
-
I fucking love Leo Komarov, my fav Leaf player
-
Cheers for that, if I can find a 5.5 w in either then it might be doable! The place you recommended have 5.5 R, which I don't think I'll fit in
-
One last question, is there a difference between the ice and roller boots, as if there isn't I'll get a conversion done.
-
I did see on their website they have those in a 5.5R. TBF I was looking at Ice Locker and Willies, as Puck Stop seems to be Bauer only now. I have found 6EEs in Europe, at a good price, but again, they might be to long. I think I will end up with a drive to Coventry or Nottingham to get fitted. I wish I'd got a pair when they came out, hindsight is 20/20

Cheers for the info, the only issue is they don't sell the TFs here in the UK and they would try and obviously sell you what they stock (which I would to) So I'd have to buy them and take them in for a baking, but that could be lost money. I'm still hoping my Nexus can be repaired
-
Cheers dude! Yeah Nexus fit me so well, I'm in a 6ee Nexus, so looking at a 5.5ee in TF9s then?
-
I am/was in Nexus EE, so that tells you, I am Mr Duck Foot. There are plenty of TFs still out there, it is just narrowing down the size! Cheers for the response!
-
Can someone please enlighten me, what has happened to the TF 9/7 line, has it been rebranded or are Cats and Hazardous completely different lines, as my hunt for a Nexus toe cap is at a loss and I fear it is new skates time
-
Even bigger update, basically the toe cap is cracked, it needs to be replaced. Now they don't have Nexus toe caps, but they do have Bauer ones, do toe caps come in different sizes or can any old (new) one be put on the boot? TIA
-
As an update here in the UK, I took them to our local skate shop, who flat out refused to do it. A mobile 'experienced' guy, who said he could rivet it, which sounds like a botch job, a cobblers in town who couldn't get it in his jig. Found a company who are able to do it, posted the skates today and they'll be there tomorrow afternoon
-
Sound, so it should be a simple sew job then!
-
Top cap coming away from rest of boot, is it repairable or am I looking at a new set of skates? TIA

Possible Supination - Outside Edge Issues
Left Wing King replied to FlyChicaga's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
I have outside edge issues, a guy I played with watched me skate, and he said I was to far forward on my toes, he said, put your weight into your heels (now I know you have to be in the seated toilet position and I thought I was) however just that simple way of saying where to put my weight clicked, followed by some simple outside edge drills has worked wonders, I feel more balanced. So it could be something as simple as that. I have a pair of old Nike Cortez, and they are very worn away on the outside of the heel area.
