  1. Sport Chek typically has dolts on the sales floor. I always browse the sticks even though they never have what I want (RH, whip flex, drury curve) and I have heard the dumbest excuses when it comes to products. "Whip flexes break faster so that's why we don't carry them." "Easton doesn't make a whip flex so you can see that no one wants them." "Ted Drury hasn't played for years..." I could go on and on but Sport Chek is a consistent disappointment for me.
  2. And boom goes the dynamite. lol
  3. I'm going to guess that it will be an amped up "continuation" of the old Vapor 10s.
  4. Whenever I buy a non-consumable worth more than $50 at a store that has a salesperson I always ask "Is that your best price?"Now, I don't break balls over it but it gives the salesperson an opportunity to knock the price down or simply say "Yeah, that's the best price I can give you." Price negotiation doesn't have to be an uncomfortable thing as long as everybody treats the other parties with respect. The simple fact of the matter is that prices for everything are constantly on the rise and, as a consumer, I'd be foolish to not try to maximize my spending power.
  5. The Endure 2 is the same stick as the Vapor VIII that was available in Canada.
  6. While I might have been the only one, when I saw the front cover I imagined that Ronnie James Dio sang the entire text of that catalogue. Also, I like Warrior's creative description of where their factory is located "south of San Diego." I guess it isn't cool to say Mexico.
  7. You haven't been looking very hard then. They are available at Tuxedo Source for Sports and Professional Skate Service.
  8. I was looking at their stuff a while back and wasn't too excited about the $200 Canadian and shipping, etc. Did you buy it directly off their site or is there some where else...possibly cheaper? It's part of a new program that we pitched to the manufacturers at the trade show in Vegas. There will be more of these to come. Before the rush starts, we'll let you know if you're selected for the program there's no need to ask us. We will be attempting to place products with the appropriate members, depending on their skills and level of products used. Well, you be sure to let me know if you need any 85-90 flex Drury type curve sticks tested by an all around crappy player like myself. ;)
  9. Unfortunately, no. I wish they did offer it in standard form.
  10. It's been a while since I've done this: Helmet: Mission Intake Facial Protection: Itech RBE VIII I2 Shoulder: Bauer 6000 Elbows: Nike V12 Gloves: TPS HGT Pro Pants: Mission M-2 Sticks: Easton Ultra Lites with Sher-Wood SOP wood blades Shin: Bauer 6000 Skates: Graf 709
  11. Just looking at the sticks I'm curious if the Vapor VIII is an Endure shaft with a conventional blade or if it is just a totally repainted Endure. Anyone know?
  12. you should have picked up the skate and used the blade as a pizza cutter...then offered him a slice. Naw, that's when you just pick up the pizza box - skates and all - and toss the whole thing in the garbage can before loudly proclaiming to the other employee "I'm going to order dinner. Do you want anything?"
  13. If you put some black laces with white flecks in them then they'd be complete. :D
  14. That makes me mental, too. I get my skates sharpened at 3/4" and have had many people tell me I'm mistaken or tell me they don't even sharpen goalie skates that flat. It's usually only after I insist that they are sharpened how I like them.
  15. Wow, those skates look like a trainwreck. There's hardly any continuity in the cosmetics of the skate.
  16. The funniest pair of custom gloves I have even seen were navy blue TPS with all white fingers except for the middle one. The guy was disputing a call with the referee and he held up his glove to the official with his palm towards himself. It totally looked like he was giving him the finger even though all his fingers were straight.
  17. And how would you know that considering it hasn't even been released yet?
  18. It looks like you have the blade in the curver incorrectly. The toe of the blade is supposed to go on the angle adjustable side of the device so you can make the curve open or closed depending on what is desired.
  19. The hosel looks normal. It's the tenon that has been cut off by cropping.
  20. That's because it's a bad photoshop job.
  21. The player gloves have a very "Reebok" look to them with the thin contrasting striping that runs paralell to the fingers.
  22. Helmet:Bauer 5000 - Fits okay but I wouldn't mind something cooler (temperature wise) Cage:Itech RBE VIII I2 - Awesome cage. I don't even notice the bars Shoulders:Bauer 6000 - Not bad but I could use a shoulder pad that comes in a XXL size because of my extra broad shoulders Elbows:Nike V12 - great fitting elbow pad Shins:Bauer 6000 - decent protection but I could really use a deeper fitting shinguard... any suggestions? Pants:Bauer 5000 - good protection but I will definitely look for a more mobile pant next time. Gloves:Bauer Vapor XV - good glove for me. Tight fit yet very flexible. Skates:Mission S300's - Currently falling apart due to poor initial fit combined with my hugeness. Will be getting Graf 709's on my next cheque. Sticks:2 Easton Ultra Lite shafts with Sherwood 950 Crosby pattern blades
  23. I think he just recently switched because I saw the Flames beat the Wings earlier in the season and he was decked out in Mission stuff. But you're right...he's definately using RBK currently. He still wears Mission gear but he uses a Reebok 2 piece stick.
  24. It's kind of funny that Jordan Leopold has two Mission Patterns bearing his name yet he uses a Reebok Stick.
