I've been using the Grit Airbag for two years now. Really like it and it's held up very well. Only issue I have is when it rains...gear can get wet going from the car to the rink. The other side of that is that it never gets skunky in the bag because there is always airflow.

If I could try them I'd definitely consider it. I decided to go with another pair of 2xPros. The only thing I did not care for was the narrowness, but now there's the "Fit 2" option. I think they'll be perfect. I would wait for the new 100K but I have four 1 week-long camps coming up @ 6 hours a day coaching plus 2x games of my own per week. I need another ride now🤣

Appreciate the response. I have no issues adjusting but I certainly understand it. How is the flex profile on the Trues? How do you find the fit compared to CCM and Bauer. I have seen the video about the fit issues, but I've also heard others say they are the same as the others. Interested in your take. I'm thinking perhaps since I liked the 2xPros that with a Fit 2 now available...might be a good idea. I do hate those injected eyelets but I can bore them out.

I'm in AS3 Pro's and love them. I'm skating 5-6 days a week and I used to alternate with 2xPro's which were a touch narrow but...with baking and punching worked fairly well. I sold them as I thought one pair would be fine. Well...I miss alternating with a more flexible skate (double hip replacement...less stress). My question is...before I just go after another pair of 2xPro's with a fit 2, should I consider True TF9's? If so...what size (7.5D AS3 Pro's fit like a second skin). Alternatively, would it be smarter to wait for an FT4 or 100k? If I do that I can share steel with my current skates but that's not essential. Looking forward to hearing your take on things. Sidebar: I still have my 1977 Super Tacks (from college), Supreme Comp 1000's and Comp 5000's. Not only did one of these skates weigh almost as much as a pair of these new ones but they were wet all season! Technology isn't always good, but hockey technology often is 🇨🇦🥅🏒👍😎

Thumb Loops: Cannot Believe I Just Figured This Out!

Well...always gonna be exposed somewhere. I played D3 defense in Cooper SB-94 shoulder pads with the caps cut off...I'm no stranger to danger...and yeah...it's stoopid...my choice🤣. -

What am I supposed to be seeing? I'm doing great with them cut. -

There's definitely no "one size fits all" to this, and I'm certainly not trying to convince anyone to do it. Just to be clear. -
Thumb Loops: Cannot Believe I Just Figured This Out!

I had the tip of my pinky sliced off from a skate. It's crazy how white your bone is! They reattached it...demerol is awesome! It's not pretty but I can still pick my nose...that's what counts. -
Thumb Loops: Cannot Believe I Just Figured This Out!

Seems like it would be the opposite with regard to hyper extension. I hear you guys, but...the gloves I'm using don't seem to be showing gaps. Anyway, I understand the risks...I wear a half-shield...I know the risks there too. Like I said...I'll be right here telling you you were right if I get whacked up🤕😉 -
Thumb Loops: Cannot Believe I Just Figured This Out!

I'm not doubting you, but...I've looked, pried, smacked, and jabbed from every angle I can think of and nothing seems different with regard to protection. What am I overlooking...just so I can say..."Wow! You were right!" later😅 -
Got a pair of Vapor 1xPro's on Sideline. Was discounted because the thumb loops were cut. HOLY S**T! Came home after my first game with them...hacked every pair of gloves I have! The improvement in feel and mobility is unreal! No change at all in protection and all of my gloves feel 💯% better...YMMV of course. Better late than never 🤣

1) I really want to like Warrior Alpha sticks. The QX blade had no feel to me and even 75 seemed not to flex very well (I usually use 80/85). The DX had much better feel but any shot not directly in the sweet spot sent shock waves to my hands...like hitting a baseball off the handle. Maybe the next iteration will work. Either way...I'm using AS3 Pro/FT3Pro/Trigger 4 Pro now and they are perfect for me, so...guess I'm not gonna worry about it. 2) Girdles...in general. Thought I could have more mobility and the same protection. Nope...lots more mobility...lots less protection. I tried the Super Tacks girdle, which was supposed to be the beefiest. Thigh pads would shift and expose area. Next to nothing behind the legs. and the tailbone was dangerously underpadded (IMO). Back to pro stock HP45 and QRL...and very happy. 3) Bauer Supreme1s Gloves: Love the protection...love the design...do not like the palms with their thick extra padding...esp. the thumb. I could even live with that or find pro stock, but...I am a 14". 14 in this glove is too tight...15 is too big (swimming in them). Fortunately...Vapor 1x Pro/APX Pro is perfect for me in 14, as are CCM HG97's...the two I use the most now. Love both.

Anyone know the code for these? I LOVE this twig...and the FT3 Pro is also awesome! Balance is unreal and both are rocket launchers.
-
Ok...no idea how these folks figure size but I am good in a large AS1. I have to unzip the +1 length feature to get coverage (same with my HP45). These are a little more snug than the 45's and of course the Warrior QRL is slightly loose in medium but with suspenders...love 'em. I can't figure it. I have no idea how someone with my dimensions but 6' tall could possibly use these pants. Bottom line...they fit and protection is insane! Beauty!

...wouldn't be necessary if these companies would standardize what s, m, l, and xl mean. Oh well...anywaze... I am still 5'9"...33-34" waist...165 lbs...40" chest...Warrior QRL medium...CCM HP45 large. What would I wear in... CCM AS1? Bauer Vapor 1X? Thanks folks!

...and...I'm swapping back. I got the regular thickness D30 tounge and unfortunately, it's cut a tiny bit different, and unfortunately it doesn't seem to cover/ pad the same arc at the boot top. There's a spot where the collar is digging into the inner upper ankle. I didn't have that issue with the original Metatomic tongue. The other observation is that they seem to shift outward as the game progresses and I have to keep pulling them back into position...annoying. That's another issue I didn't have with the original. I suppose I can play with heating...bending...molding...ect. or I can use the silicone collar that I use with my AS1's. They felt perfect before...maybe I just go back and take my lumps if I get hit in the instep. Or...maybe I'll give it one more game.

I'm 5'9"/165...I love them! It's more about your stride, skating style, and power...I think.
-
Well...I didn't get to take it on the ice but did handle it. I was excited because AS2Pro's are going to be hitting the market for less now. It is lighter, but honestly...I don't need lighter. The only thing that would make me switch would be a better snapper cuz otherwise.. the AS2Pro is dead solid perfect for me. I play D and most of my shots are clappers and wristers from the point down to the high slot. The A2P is amazing for those and as I mentioned...the balance feels perfect.
-
I love these twigs! They feel perfectly balanced for me and I love the way they fire. Here's my question...never having tried any of the previous iterations (Ultra Tacks, SuperTacks, AS1)...Does anyone here like one of those previous models better, and if so...why... specifically? I've thought about trying the AS1, and a couple of reviews say the blade is less "pingy." How that translates into shots, passes, and handling...I don't know. Also, if the balance were different...that would shut it down for me. So...any thoughts?
-
Just standard...with the added protection.
-
Anyone tried the D30 tongue? I'm looking at giving it a go as that is where I tend to get a lot if abuse from sticks and shots...and I am not crazy about any shot blockers I've tried.
-
Thanks for the response.

My skating stride/style (according to my teammates) is "fast, strong, long, low, smooth, and technical." I feel like my balance point is just behind the ball of my foot, and I'm wondering if I profile to pitch forward a small amount...will that move balance to the ball and help my quick starts and acceleration as well as punch turns? All thoughts are appreciated.

Cake. Two laps, a couple of transitions, a few punch turns and stops...done. I could easily have played a game that first time.
