Beauty, LI... is that retail? Soft grip and all?
-
The guy I went to locally set me up on 9/16, and I liked it a lot... but when Odie closed up shop- my last resort was a place that rhymed with Shmure Sockey... and my skates felt different every single time - it was brutal, so I just gave up and told them 1/2 inch (which is their "standard"). I dealt, but it wasn't as comfortable as the 9/16... so that's why I figured I'd hop back on the 9/16 when I went up to No Icing.

With consistency issues since my local shop closed... I finally decided I too, would go wth No Icing Sports and as an added bonus, try out the FBV sharpening. I got way too eager and made the drive up to No Icing from Quincy, MA (a straight-shot, nice drive).. Bob was amazing. He went over my Skater Profile with me, and explained every single recommendation in detail. So we went with an 8ft/13ft compound radius, and my usual 9/16, only in the FBV variety. I got to skate tonight, and like everyone else... wow. The glide was unreal, and like a few others have mentioned- my turns really, really "crunch"... the only issue is I had a hard time stopping... just way too much bite for me. I'm going to give them a little more time on Thursday... but I think I'd have to go a tad shallower if I'm sticking with the FBV sharpenings... The compound radius made such a difference, I've noticed a lot less soreness in my bad knee and lower back. Are any of you other guys having issues stopping with the extra bite the FBV offers? Or do I moan that bad?! haha..

Very nice MGoBlue... I love black/orange. I almost picked up a pair of Black/Orange One90 gloves.

Fletch, You're on quite the roll... Looking pretty stylish out there. Question, is the Warrior logo on the cuff screened? Was that a request, or "standard"? I was kinda hoping it would be embroidered on the customs...
-
Are you coming to Boston anytime soon? haha.. I just need to not be lazy and go for a drive to get mine done. I'm pretty curious to try this.
-
The bottom one looks like it's flipped.. so I'd say standard.
-
gimmix... those are bangin'. I dropped the ball on my pair of custom Franchise for Christmas. I do have a birthday in March though!
-
Well the certainly won't have a need for it in Dallas...Avery's stupidity ends up being Drew's gain, no?

See kids, note the defenseman's white gloves..... haha.

Guitar stuff or what ever you play

I love the XXX.. it's essentially a bargain basement Dual Rec. If I really needed that much gain, I'd be all for it as opposed to unloaded the big bucks for Mesa. I won a First Act guitar for Converse's 100th anniversary. From the pics online, it had the Chuck Taylor inlay, etc. They just sent me a normal First Act Sheena CE240. Pretty nice, considering it was free and all. I'm pretty impressed with the high end First Act stuff... I've been meaning to mosey on down to the factory right here in Boston/Somerville. -
The white Missions are dreamy... 3 fingers and all. I snuck in a few more treats before closing out my debts.. Mission JP400M loose fit shirt... I'm a lil' fat for it now, so it's a good thing I'm on a diet. Philly road EDGE socks couple of Mission M-2 shafts... they feel great, the SWD comp blade I have in there does the shaft zero justice ... and an oldie, but a goodie. Pro stock V-Hex I bought from Drewhunz... the blade died on me, so I popped in a Vapor XXXX woodie, and it's my favorite stick now.
-
what up, Darth? Those look great... if only the heel had silver/grey as opposed to the blue accent.
-
mmmm... RiBeiro pro stocks. That one I bought from you finally died on me Drew. It actually still shoots great, but the blade went soft. Popped the blade out, shoved in a tapered woodie and I like it more than all my OPS'. But if you decide you're not liking that one, you know you got a buyer. ;)

You should add one of the ltd. edition chrome TPS XN10's to your blinged out sticks... They look great..
-
Love the gloves MGoBlue.... going with the "Weinrich", ey?
-
Well, we did a ton of debt consolidation last month... I snuck in a few more of the V-Hex before all of it went through.. haha. But yes, all my credit cards are joint accounts, as is my debit card.. so I guess that about does it for me. The TI was from the stick promo over the summer, so she isn't too steamed about that one showing up this morning. Although, she wasn't exactly thrilled about the $280 skates that I had to buy to get the free stick... haha
-
As mentioned before, I guess you could call me a fan of the Mission stuff. The Fuel TI came today... along with 2 more V-Hex I snatched up from Philbrick's. Stop me before I binge again! haha...
-
Make it 2... I'm all Mission from head to toe with the exception of my CCM Girdle. I'm trying my best to go on a Mission-horde while I can. Although seeing the new Titanium on the Mission website did bring a smile to my face.. I'll have to get one before they go byes.

Internet much? I think it's just as easy to pickup sarcasm in braille.. The persistent moaning for pictures that 'barely' (and in barely, I mean that reputable sources even state there's not a whole worth seeing) exist. It's a lil' over the top.
-
I would have to agree on 'going south'... I mean, asking for sketches? Anyone who's been a member of the forum for more than 2 weeks knows that when the timing is appropriate, we'll all see it.

+1 on the bag.... I wanted shells too, but I think I snoozed too long on them. Damn wedding...
-
Stroker Series, ey? Interesting...
-
considering how old that stick is, and it appears to be in pristine condition... so I'd assume it is kept on a wall, or with a collection.

My brother would shed a tear if he saw those.... he loved those skates right up until their death.
