  1. The Vapor 10 , and maybe the 8 had the triangular cut outs on the steel, and it had a black finish. That was great quality steel and sharpened really well. The First generation LS2 holders had scalloped cuts on the bottom edge making it really difficult to hand stone. You may be thinking of the Tuuk V2 steel for the Custom + . It was "normal" width for the front 1/2 , and then was about half as thick from the middle to rear of the blade. Jay McKee used that stuff forever.
  2. Keep the faith brother. All of your internet friends are pulling for you.
  3. Thanks @althoma1 , Exactly what I was looking for.
  4. Haven't skate dinline in years, and just picked up a pair of lightly used RPD Comp + to work out this summer with my son. It's just the boot and chassis. Could anyone confirm wheel size is 80mm? Also, I'll need bearings, spacers and cross bolts correct? Lastly, I'll be skating primarily on our asphalt driveway (fairly smooth, 2 years old) but hope to get over to an outdoor rink with sportcourt a couple times a week. Is there a wheel hardness that will work well on both? looking to avoid swapping two sets worth of skate wheels multiple times a week. Thanks
  5. Fear not, I'm sure there will be an all female reboot ala Ghostbusters...
  6. Surprised he made it this long. Guy has looked to be in rough shape since that show ended.
  7. Try the "Buy" section of the gear exchange. Show it off is clearly not the correct thread.
  8. I emailed for a set. $45 shipped to the US IIRC.
  9. I wouldn't say I'm bored with it, but I don't get excited unless there is some true innovation. Getting VH skates and solving my fit issues that went back over a decade was exciting. Stuff like Flare steel , the Bauer/True/CCM quick release holders are intriguing to me. The True X-Core stick blade were a cool innovation that I was leery of but came around after trying it out at Summer Jam. At this point in my life it's hard for me to get excited about new release retail gear. I can't remember the last time I was in a big box shop.
  10. Those were my first gloves back in the day when I was a kid.
  11. At least leave a message Dave, the heavy breathing freaks my wife out.
  12. At least they did the Call/text email tonight, notifying us school is delayed two hours tomorrow because it's cold. In the winter. In New England.
  13. Does the school system really need to call me at 4:30am to let me know there's a two hour delay due to the three inches of snow that just fell? I think not so much.
  14. Ditch the Fusion steel and keep the existing holders. You can find non edge steel for dirt cheap. If the holder actually breaks at some point you can revisit it then, but I wouldn't swap unless you need the quick change feature.
  15. Unreleased low-mid range model?
  16. Shallow ROH, or would any of the FBV spinners work? If I recall there was talk about Blackstone making Flare specific spinners but it was cost prohibitive?
  17. I have a Blackstone X01 sharpener- what would be needed to be able to sharpen Flare steel?
  18. Looks good! What was done and who did the work?
  19. Turn around times do seem to be pretty quick right now. My buddy ordered 10/23 and picked them up 10 days later. Coming out of CCM RBZs that never fit quite right he's happy with these.
  20. I've got mixed feelings on this. Although the green uni's are my all time favorite, the blatant cash grab bothers me . At least it's not Karmanos.
