  1. Meh, I've always thought white trim/uppers can look cool when done right (Think Micron Air 90's. I wanted a pair of Christian Dube's white trimmed 952's back in the day. I've seen some True skates at the NHL level that have just the top area of faux leather done in white- looks good. The Graf "Great White" models were just too white.
  2. Also possible the first sharpening was subpar, and didn't fully establish both edges.
  3. The finish on the CCM's is oxidized. It doesn't affect performance at all, scratched or not. If you are unhappy with the performance, Step is always a solid choice for replacement steel.
  4. Not ruined, but your sharpener used a stone on the sides and damaged the cosmetic finish on the blades.
  5. If there is a tracking number on the shipment you may be able to ontercept/redirect the package before delivery. Contact the carrier you used to ship.
  6. We added a dog to our family two weeks ago. It's been an adjustment to say the least. Up at 4:15 this am as he thought it was time to eat.. First week we were up at 2:30 every day, so I'm hoping there's some additional improvement. The lack of sleep is killing me. Forgot my skates last night- had to play in a pair of rentals a size too small. Good times.
  7. I would try removing and repositioning the tongue slightly.
  8. Make sure it lists Toluene as an ingredient. They make a newer "safer" version that doesn't work as well.
  9. You can reglue that using Barge brand adhesive. It's used in shoe manufacturing. Apply to both sides, wait about 20 min, than clamp together for a few minutes. Will work on the whit trim piece as well.
  10. Yup, vintage Bauer . Some their best quality steel. I have a set of that we coated as a demo set. Great steel if you are still running Custom + holders.
  11. The stomach is a tough area to pad, as it's basically a hinge point for your body. Too much bulk there will inhibit your movement. Most shoulder pads that come down that far in the front do so with a separate pad removable with velcro. Most pants have an ab flap to pretty much offer some padding against the belt buckle front closure. I wouldn't worry too much about a lack of padding there.
  12. The surface most likely wasn't prepped before painting so the paint hopefully won't adhere very well. CitriStrip may be an option as well.
  13. Is it just on the plastic toe cap area? I've seen a couple of goalie skates painted white. If it's in the plastic try putting some duct tape on the painted area and let it sit for a couple of days before ripping it off. I suspect a good portion of it will come up. Mabe attack the rest with acetone.
  14. I would guess different height options will eventually be available similar to the difference between LS2 /LS 3 etc. to address this.
  15. My impression as well. I was really impressed with the SuperTacks girdle, and actually went with that one.
  16. The "post" portion of the steel looks very long. Steel pouches will need to be made wider . Surprised it's not a tooless design as well. Are they using a skate hook? Does look like a very solid lock up.
  17. Great deal for our gravatationaly enhanced members.
  18. My 40 and over team had a practice last night for an upcoming tournament. A couple of guys brought their kids (PeeWee/Bantam aged) as we were short. I brought my 11 year old son. It was my first time skating with him in an adult full on scrimmage. We had a blast. I told him I waited 11 years for this day and it was worth it. He played great- fearless in the corners and carrying the puck up ice. Had about 10 shots, about half really good scoring chances. So much fun.
  19. I've seen worse out of more "established" brands.. Curious how well it fits/performs.
