It has some flex to it. I edited my last post to add picks. The type of damage was similar, only deeper on the CCM's. I packed the opening with foam and then epoxy. It held up great until he picked up some Trues.

I would use some two part epoxy instead of Shoe Goo. I repaired a similar type of damage to a friend's CCM U+. It'll have more rigidity and stability than Shoe Goo.

Ditch the Fusion steel and keep the existing holders. You can find non edge steel for dirt cheap. If the holder actually breaks at some point you can revisit it then, but I wouldn't swap unless you need the quick change feature.

Adam Oates used to wear two different gloves. IIRC, he wanted a super tight one for his lower hand when taking face offs. There could be a mod to one of the gloves that accommodates an injury (2 fingers sewn together etc) that maybe wasn't done to all 17 pairs that Malkin seems to rotate through...

Shallow ROH, or would any of the FBV spinners work? If I recall there was talk about Blackstone making Flare specific spinners but it was cost prohibitive?

Love my CCM Super Tacks elbows, but coming from a pair of much longer 8K's I had concerns about exposed forearm/wrist area ( I have really long arms). Got whacked it the same spot in back to back games so I made these from a pair of older elbow pads and lock stitched them in. Two games in and don't notice them while playing. I may add an elastic strap like the Jofa slash guards these are patterned after.

Thanks. I think the worst part will be waiting for the race to start. 45 Minutes is a long time to just stand in the cold. I'm looking for a jacket I can just chuck once the race starts.

I'm running a Thanksgiving morning road race and weather forecast is for CT to have "the coldest Thanksgiving on record" , with temps in the low teens. Any suggestions for keeping warm for the 45 minutes before the race starts when the 13,000 runners stage? Also, not sure what layers beyond a cold gear shirt and maybe a t shirt will be comfortable. Maybe a UA type hoody? If anyone one has run in similar conditions let me know what worked for you.

Turn around times do seem to be pretty quick right now. My buddy ordered 10/23 and picked them up 10 days later. Coming out of CCM RBZs that never fit quite right he's happy with these.

After seeing a few posts from our larger framed members complaining about the difficulty in locating bigger jersey and socks. I have a game worn uniform from MSH's Summer Jam 2017, Toronto , ON. (this is a fantastic event- if you are reading this and haven't been to SJ or Winterfest you really won't regret it) I ended up with a much more generously cut jersey and socks than my 195 lb , 6'2" frame requires. Hopefully a fellow MSHer can put these to use, they are just too big for me to wear. Jersey measures 30" from pit to pit for a pro size 60. It's also very long. With shoulder pads it hangs past my butt. It's approx 38" from the top of the back collar to the bottom hem. This was only worn once. Comes with matching socks that are approx 30" long and 12" wide. I've found the the flatter, oval shaped bars have more of an effect on visibility than the difference between the gunmetal or white. I've been wearing a Bauer 7500 since they came out with no desire to change.

STX logo looks funny in blue, should be black. Other than that,

CCM sizing decals on the bottom of the outsoles are rarely present when pro stock skates hit the secondary market. Until recently VH/True sizing was printed on a label in the same place Bauer sizing info would be. My point was Trues aren't any worse or more of a gamble than any other custom skate from another manufacturer.
