I would imagine the size is very dependent on your degree of over pronation. You should probably experiment with shim width and get that dialed in prior to ordering skates with a built in shim. Ordering the wrong shim set up could cause more problems than you are trying to correct.

Does the lace "knot" move to the same side as well? My buddy had a similar issue with his RBZ's and I was able to correct it by installing lace locks in the top eyelets.

Ah, I see it now, in back of the leather area of liner. Is it just on one side, due to the tongue shifting over?
-
It looks like the tongue will still be rubbing as you skate, the tab would just keep the tongues centered in the boot. I would think glueing a reinforcement piece of thin leather over that area would provide a better result.

Looking at credit monitoring services- anybody have any input on this? Looking at "TrustedID"'s family plan, seems decent. ..

So the Mrs finished up our tax returns using Turbo Tax and hit "send". Error message comes back indicating someone already filed. .. Awesome.

Thanks. Really my only complaint with VH is the cheap "loop" sections of Velcro they use to attach tongues. It's the only thing I've had to replace. Remove old Velcro, use Barge to glue on new piece and then have a cobbler near me stitch around the perimeter. Much less labor intensive than stitching in new tongues though, so if that's my biggest gripe so be it.

After several weeks of 40-50 degree weather that completely melted my rink, It's been cold (-10 last couple of days) enough to refreeze. I put three coats of water this afternoon and tonight. Smooth as glass. Supposed to be 30 degrees, and my son and I have the next two days off. Looking forward to getting out there and messing around for a few hours.

Catalogue Review 2016 True Hockey Catalogue
Monty22 replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in 2016 Product Catalogue Reviews
The True reps at Summer Jam last year mentioned these were in the works. Nice to see they were able to get them to market. Intriguing concept. -
Picked up a pair of pro stock Quinten Howden skates (pair on the left). They are wider than my customs, but I swapped out the thin tongues for the thicker VH ones and put in some CCM insoles and they feel pretty good. The new style tendon guard and toe box feel very solid. Put new CCM tongues in my customs as well.

Awesome, I'm sure those guys have been eagerly awaiting answers for the last four years.

Youth hockey- anyone can coach, but not everybody should.

Based on your rusting rivets and eyelets I would guess that a lot of those issues are related to the PH of your sweat- sounds like it is more acidic than most. Skating barefoot will not help matters with your new pair if that is the case.

I had similar pain with my APX as well CCM CL , along with my VH when I tried them with my super feet. Turns out I just needed slightly thicker insoles in that area. The CCM / Currex insoles resolved my discomfort.
