  1. I was going to suggest the "skip the second form the top" eyelet xstartxtodayx mentions above. Both my son and I do this. Feels like the best of both worlds for stability vs. forward flex.
  2. The 9k is more protective but it's a heavy and bulky beast of a girdle. Have you tried just adding a piece of foam behind the hip pads of your current girdle? Something like a yoga mat or camping sleeping pad will do the trick. I would even look at adding some sort of supplemental pad to the CCM girdle you have if you are hitting an unprotected area before looking at the 9k. It's really overkill for non contact hockey.

  6. I believe 2 part epoxy is used on the mounting plate for a more secure/ permanent mount.

  8. "Russia’s use of Z and V symbols has been used interchangeably, with ‘V’ also used in graphics to stand for ‘victory’ in Putin’s military campaign. But it has also been closely aligned with the phrase “Сила правде” meaning “Power of Truth” and “задача будет выполнена”, which means “the task will be completed”. It has been spotted on the side of Russian tanks rolling through Ukraine."
  9. Came across a set of new Flare steel on SLS too cheap to pass up. I've been using 95/75 FBV for the last 9 years, and sharpened the Flare steel to 1". Used them in a pick up last night. Transition wasn't hard, maybe a lap or two in warm ups and they felt fine. They certainly felt more stable turning and doing cut backs, and I felt more efficient with straight ahead skating (this felt more noticeable to me than the improvement in turns). I had my regular steel on the bench intending to swap them back and forth to compare, but we only had 2 subs so I was distracted by exhaustion... So far impressions are positive. Looking forward to getting some more time on them.

  12. For your stated use I think you can cross off the Blackstone just based on price. I don't think it would do anything the BladeMaster can't do as well. I would check around on Ebay and SLS for used rivet presses, and even ask around at your LHS to see if they have any interest in moving one. I picked up my BladeMaster off of Craigslist.

  14. There are/were some for sale on ebay, from a shop out of Canada.
  15. You could use one of the lower profile True tongues or even the CCM ones.
  16. I use Barge adhesive (used in shoe and boot assembly) with excellent results. I've found the Velcro adhesive to be disappointing in general.
