A "Tremol No" works wonders for string changes on Floyds.

I have a Mexi HSS with a Floyd, nice guitar. Floyds are a pain in the ass to set up correctly but they do what they do very well. The Charvels were made in the same plant at first but production has moved to Asia, if my memory serves. I have played a few of them and they were consistently good as well.

When the things you used to love hold no joy for you

Better to fix it than pencil whip it or ignore it like some other airlines do. One in particular keeps ignoring required inspections and has been fined for it a bunch of times.
-
Some airlines allow you to "buy up" one level.

The fleet is getting turned over pretty quickly, more than one new plane per week.

Just noticed today that they also managed to scrape the hell out of my front tire too. Looks like I may not be parking in the garage at the airport much longer.

Not when they are plastic and are cracked. At least it's only the little silver "wings", but list price is still $100+ each and I need to replace both of the rear ones. *stock image, not my actual FJ.

Wife screwed up my planned weekend in Key West, so I got up and went to my allergist appointment that I scheduled last month. Unfortunately, they elected not to open this morning and never said a word. On the way back to the car, I noticed that someone had hit it, most likely while I was parked in the garage at work this week. Now I have to replace my back bumper.

It's probably better that you aren't from the same family. Seriously though, I've seen meddling family members make way too many weddings uncomfortable for the people getting married. My wife and I made virtually all of the arrangements for our wedding and had a very limited guest list. Doing that pissed off a lot of my family, but they were people that I rarely, if ever, saw or hung out with anyway. By limiting the number of people, it made it very easy to draw the line on who was or was not coming. The other thing that worked well for us was having almost all of the details in place before telling anyone. That way when they wanted to offer "suggestions", I could honestly tell them that it was already taken care of. One thing I would suggest considering is selecting a friend or family member to be the troubleshooter. Allow that person to handle any issues so that you can do your best to enjoy the day. Something will happen at some point during the day and having someone else deal with it, without bringing it to you, is a huge bonus in enjoying the event.

He did a fantastic job of appearing open to a paradigm shift while covering for their corporate donors partners. They are more comfortable with an organization that says "we can't prevent concussions" than one that says, "we think we can help reduce concussions." As I said in a phone conversation earlier today, a helmet that would meet a five star level wouldn't have sold before this became public. The things that they would have to do to reach that level of safety would make it look very, very different and that would not go over well with most hockey players.

Even the Va Tech staff say that the number isn't everything. And given everything that I have seen and read over the years, they appear to be going in what I believe is the right direction. More and softer padding will dissipate impacts better than harder padding. At the very least, everything they are doing is out in the open and can be critiqued.
-
Frankly Jeff, I don't really care if you like my tone or not and I never even said that in the first place. You have accused me of things that I never said and the VA Tech people of ulterior motives a number of times in this topic. If you want to rebut their methods or results, I would love to hear it. Otherwise, I just suggest you lay off the personal attacks.

HECC and CSA, to the best of my knowledge, have never published any of the actual numbers from their testing. When combined with the influence of the manufacturers on the board, that leaves some people with a lot of questions. Secrecy creates doubt, it's that simple. I hope it's ok for me to disclose this, as it was pretty common knowledge in the industry a couple years ago. Easton had a helmet in the works that was based on the RIddell football helmet that got a five star rating, but it never made it to market. It was large and heavy, so I had concerns about increased neck and whiplash type injuries with it. I think having an independent agency doing the testing is a good thing and I think publishing the methodology and results is a great thing. I also think the video segment was borderline criminal in the way that it is trying to scare parents.
-
Making the helmets larger, to incorporate more padding for impact dispersion, could very well result in more whiplash type concussions due to the extra mass. I'm in favor of doing as much as possible to reduce concussions, and I think having a scale for that is a good thing overall. I wish that HECC had been rating helmets on something other than pass-fail for years, as well as publishing the data. There's nothing wrong with trying to prevent both, if you can. However, I am not a fan of the fear-mongering style of the ESPN report.

That's odd, Flight aware only shows one diversion and no cancellations.

I disagree. I think trying the skates out of the box and adapting them from there is a much better idea. The boot is different, using the same specs on the holder is not going to feel the same.

It was her choice, she is already ignoring another therapist for her own issues. Oh hell no, I'm not that stupid.
-
Went to counseling with my wife, doctor told my wife almost all of the same things that I have said over the last year. Why is this in the venting spot? We probably won't be going back to see the same doctor ever again, my wife hates it when I'm right.

And people wonder why I want to move somewhere with 12 months of summer.

I should have left a while ago but I wanted to try and make it work. Unfortunately, even Brodeur couldn't save that one.
