You could have the steel profiled to have a less aggressive pitch. That would give you much more control over exactly how much less forward pitch you end up with. Buying an extra set of steel and having them profiled would be cheaper than having new Tuuks mounted and with two sets of steel, you could experiment very easily. Swapping steel is extremely easy and straight forward with the CXN.

I have an extremely wide foot and probably could have pushed the D width out far enough when baking. I went with EE, just to be safe. You should be ok with the arch as well, you can always add part of an insole if you need to level it out.

I think you're pretty close on how it works, it looks like a lot like a lithium grease that I have seen.

As Mojo stated, that slippery feeling is what you are supposed to get while gliding. When gliding, you are getting a hollow that feels more like a 2 inch hollow. Yet, when you dig in, you get the bite of a 1/2" hollow with 100/50. You just have to trust your edges to be there.

It's always nice to have a representative from a company on board that is willing to help out people interested in their products.

The old Blackstone chart listed 90/75 as roughly similar to 5/8 and the 95/75 as roughly similar to 1/2. That's pretty accurate in my experience.

Late November in PA, the perfect time to buy a used Boxster.

I liked the Cornell 335s but wasn't a fan of the pickups, this one was a much better option for me.

Just arrived in the mail today, "Government Edition" 335. The rosewood in the fretboard was part of the wood confiscated in the raid of the Gibson factory a couple years ago and returned as part of the settlement. It's #99 of 300 and if I were inclined to name my guitars, this one would be "Wayne" for obvious reasons. But I'm not and it won't be.

If you're into country or old school southern rock, check out the Southern Drawl Band. A lot of their stuff skews towards Buffett or Chesney, but they also threw some Steve Earle and Marshall Tucker into their set on Thursday night in Key West. A really fun band and seriously good musicians. A little more laid back and fun version of the Zac Brown Band, is the best way I can think of to describe them.

With everything that has happened lately, I needed a break. Hearing that Buffett was playing a beach show in Key West, I decided to jump on a plane and headed down for a couple days. I had no hotel room booked and wasn't registered for the four day festival that he was crashing. In the end, I met a ton of new people, slept on a couch one night and had a fantastic time. To top it off, JB did what the more hardcore fans had been asking him to do for years; he didn't play all the the hits, he told stories behind the songs and played his breakthrough album (White Sportcoat and a Pink Crustacean) in its entirety.

I agree with everything except that part. If it's definitely a penalty, you call it. If it's borderline, then you tell them to be careful. Nothing worse than getting a stick to the side of the head and hearing "keep the stick down" from the ref. I got a two handed chop to the head that cracked my helmet the other night, no call because "there were only a couple seconds left in the game"

I would tell guys up front that I was a hard ass and was going to call everything I saw. I also tried to take the instigator in just about every situation I could, rather than just match up minor penalties on both teams. It didn't take long for guys to figure it out and the games I worked were generally pretty enjoyable. The only guys that complained over the long term were the ones that committed a penalty on pretty much every shift they took. Pushing, shoving, bumping; that's just hockey, deal with it. Slashing, boarding, cross-checking, go to the box. I also told guys that I would tell them why I made any call if they asked, but I wasn't going to argue with them. And "WTF" does not qualify as a question, that qualifies as another two minutes.

Thanks to everyone for the PMs, emails, text messages and calls. Having the support of so many people has certainly made a difference. The league at Lancaster Ice Rink used to be really laid back, it may be worth checking out to see if that is still the case. If I get over to play some golf at Groff Farms again, I'll let you know and take you up on that beer. I know the league at Twin Ponds keeps getting worse by the year and York was a freak show when I played down there.

My wife died this morning.

Just saying that three different profiles is pushing the limits of what could be beneficial. Four? It seems like it's just a matter of doing one more because you can. It sounds like you need to bake the skates again, pushing out the areas that are causing discomfort. I would just put a couple layers of moleskin on the parts of your foot that are having issues, then put a sock over them before putting your foot into the heated boot. It should result in those areas being pushed out enough to reduce or prevent pain.

I carry a cheap knife sharpening stone to do the same thing without damaging the steel. It's also significantly cheaper than the sweet stick, too.

Quad profile? Sounds like a razor to me. The Mach 20 must be coming soon. https://youtu.be/4F7TMlrDXtw

Sorry for the typo, I get in a rush and don't always proof my posts. No idea why they use 1 at times and 100 others, my only guess is that they shortened it over time and just left the existing hollows labeled the old way. I haven't tried all of the hollows, they're too expensive and not all of them come for the X02 that I have. It may very well be that it performs the most similarly, but I would be hesitant about the edge height on the 95/1. I can only base my opinions on what I have used and what I know; almost all of my guys thought 100/50 didn't have quite enough bite for them, but loved the 95/75. I have one on the 100/50 and two use 90/75, as I do.
-
The 95/75 will have a wider flat spot at the top and shorter side walls. so it will sink into the ice less. Think of the 90/a as 90/100 and it will make more sense. I think going from /50 sides to /100 sides will be a significant increase in bite
-
Also found my old Itech 660 shoulder pads that were stripped down for more comfort. I need to make one more modification to them and they will be perfect.
-
95/75 should give you what you are looking for
-
No, the 707 was designed with high end materials and to be durable. While you may get that feel temporarily with a lesser quality boot, you will need to be replacing it relatively quickly. Outside of maybe a Mission S400/S500, there hasn't been anything on the market that was remotely similar.

Catalogue Review 2015 STX Hockey Catalogue
Chadd replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in 2015 Product Catalogue Reviews
None of the pro pairs that STX had at the warehouse had the retail gusset. If that pair does, they are not typical of pro stock STX gloves. At least that was my understanding after talking to the guys, I could be wrong.
