First off, thank you for supporting MSH! We are approaching our 15th year of being the largest resource of hockey equipment discussion on the Web, and we’ve achieved great things as a community. However, one of the biggest things that a community must do is constantly evolve. Nowadays, it is important to be active on social media channels as well as video content; life moves fast and people consume media differently. Not that there isn’t anything wrong with forums per se, but it is time that we evolve into a position that we can offer all of those options. So we’ve designed a new front end that will highlight the content we create, yet provide an easy way to move on to /forums for a deeper dive. We will be highlighting product reviews and articles that will be strictly on this side of the site; posts that we create as well as some of our members’ creations. If you would like to contribute to our article bank, don’t hesitate to send me a PM or email me at admin@modsquadhockey.com. Let us know what you think!

All you've been saying so far still tells me you should explore the orthotic route. And there's very well a good possibility that you will still need it with custom skates. In a custom boot, the goal is to not have negative space; but in your post, you're asking for negative space. -

When I was fitting skates, customs were a last resort, especially when it was something that could be solved before going that route. I don't throw out recommendations for people very often; it's very hard to find a fitter who is willing to work out issues rather than just taking money from a customer. That's why Bret's on my extremely short list. -

Is PH Rockville on the list? Bret's a good dude, and a MSH member. I've consulted on his fittings back when it was a TH; now he's cranking them out consistently. -

smu - I am trying to help you here. Twice. And both times you bit my head off, both times. On one instance you had 6 posts in a row. Then you had 5 posts in the row. It is annoying to read and extremely hard to follow. While perhaps you don't like that you got called out on it by members, but the OWNER of this website did not do so; all he did was tell you how to avoid that by using the MultiQuote function. Assess the situation and think before you post. If you see several posts you want to respond to, use MultiQuote. If you're just replying to one post, then just reply to it. At this point, I ask for this situation to be resolved going forward. If you want to talk about your True skates when they arrive, by all means, do that. But it's high time to put this to bed. -

Members can edit their posts. So can you. So, the insinuation that we’re protecting “popular” members by deleting their posts is certainly not the case here. We don’t do that. MultiQuote works when you want to quote multiple people, so that you have one post, not 6. It lays it all out for you. -

Underneath the post you're trying to quote, there is a button that says Quote. To the left of it, there is a button with a +. You can click multiple posts to quote at one time. Once you choose the first post, a pop up will appear in the bottom right hand corner that would say Quote 1 post. If you add more posts, the total updates. Then click the box and it puts it all in the post. -

I hate those things. They never sit right or lock in correctly. I use the old Itech style washers. Goes in straight every time.

It doesn’t matter. You obviously didn’t comprehend my post. You shouldn’t have been carrying the water for this; your LHS should’ve. Especially when you said you trusted them. They got a sale with minimal effort on their part. You’re supposed to take care of the customer pre and post-sale. -

Think you're looking into that way too hard. Just because it's at pro doesn't mean it's practical for retail. -

What happened here was pure shenanigans, and I won't really get into that, but what I've been seeing is that you ultimately were dealing with a store that didn't go the extra mile. I hate seeing customers having to reach out to the manufacturer for support; a lot of it was because during my hockey retail career, none of my customers had to do that. Luckily for me, I knew the manufacturers and didn't have the time and/or patience to have to go through someone at the head office and wait for an answer. I didn't care. I knew how to get the situation resolved, and I owed that to my customer. The store should be the only point of contact. -

Right. The holder size was stamped in there before, when it was solid. -

Should be working for you now. You should be able to just drop the file in there. -

I wasn’t being condescending at all. I gave you a perk that nobody else has on this site for you to be able to post the pictures. As I said in the post, you will now see an area under the box to upload. If it doesn’t appear, I may have to check the permissions. -
Prosharp likes to start beginners out on long radius for stability purposes - definitely an Euro thing. And your typical beginners will have skates that are small. We're profiling 2/3 of the steel. On a shorter steel, even though the profiling zone is shorter, more of the apex of the radius will be in it than a longer blade. That's why the feel is different between sizes - as the steel gets bigger, the gradual transition from the apex is larger.

@smu - I really don't understand why it is hard for you to figure out how to use a photo hosting service and just pop in the URL where it's hosted. That all being said, I do recognize the era we live in. I have temporarily given you access to upload photos to MSH's servers so we can put all of this to bed. On your next post, you will see where it says "Drag files here to attach." Right under the text box. Drag your pic there, it will upload. Then click the Plus sign to insert into post. -
yeah, that’s too short for something like that.

Thanks for the clarification, Jeff. Dave - it would have to be as the team will still book the order through the manufacturer. -

It was just a question; obviously, if it matters to those teams and they're dealing with you, shouldn't it matter to others in the hockey business community? -

That’s assuming they feel that way, which they don’t. They’re one of the most stand-up guys in this business. -
