  1. Up - I'll get netminder32 to review the goal side.
  2. the EQ5 is new tech. It will be interesting to see how it is received. Easton seems to inch every year in the skate category. If only they would ditch the holder... Heatley is square toe. Chara is round.
  3. http://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums/index...amp;showfile=67 Sticks - S19 was a standalone release in Q4 2009, and now it has a family behind it. The S15, S13, S7 and S3 round out the Stealth family, all with elliptical tapers and Kevlar-wrapped shafts spare S3. SyNergy line remains unchanged except tweaked SE2 and SE1. The ST is a standalone SyNergy stick as it has a different profile and blade than the SEs. Also coming in an 115 flex for the big boys. S19 is the new Z-Bubble and ST is still the Ultra Lite. P10 Chara is a new curve, a lie 5 1/2" mid curve with a round toe. Skates - SyNergy got the remodel job this year - what they have done is made a hybrid skate - moldable foam in the quarters, however, composite along the eyerows and around the uppers. The EQ5 is carbon, EQ4 has the same foam in the quarters, however glass on top. Running change on EQ3 - it will come with RB2 instead of the molded Bladz holder pictured. Stealth line remains unchanged. Helmets - The big story for Easton this year is the S19 Z-Shock - which is an one-piece helmet. Due to this process, there aren't any gaps in protection like what you would see in a standard adjustable helmet. And the weight is ridiculous. The helmet comes in 5 sizes and while some sizes may overlap, it is secured by an adjustment system (think mesh hat) that locks onto your occipital bone. The rest of the helmets carry over except for the S13, which falls between the S9 and S17. Rear adjustment like on S17 however, no dial. Gloves - SyNergy line has been changed for 2010. The EQ5 features an adjustable length cuff, triple segmented fingers (pointer/middle/ring), seamless palm on index and pinky fingers, and a half PU leather/half nylon package. Stealth line includes the S19 gloves released in Q4 2009 and the other Stealth gloves are unchanged. Protective - On the pant side, new offerings on the Stealth side. The S19 pant is designed to flex with the skater - with the belly pad and spine pad having full range of motion. The belt is a 2-way system that sits on the hips and criss-crosses in the middle to lock the pant down. Hip pads are segmented and made with lightweight materials. The S13 has a toned-down shell as well as losing the segmented pads. The shoulder pads have segmented padding as well as low-profile shoulder caps and segmented bicep protectors. The elbow pads have an x-strap system made of neoprene for comfort as well as molded forearm and bicep inserts. It is also vented along the bottom of the elbow pad. The S19 shin pads have a molded hard calf wrap and a flared thigh pad which is made not to interfere with the top of the pant.
  4. http://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums/index...amp;showfile=68 Skates - The Supreme line got the makeover for 2010, and topping that lineup is the limited-edition TotalONE. Coming in at 100g lighter than its predecessor, the TotalONE has been designed to increase flexibility (lateral/dorsal) giving the skater much better range of motion. It features a revamped interior (lighter internals, lighter cloth liner and comfort padding on the edge of the ankles), an adjustable stiffness tongue (three inserts come with the skate and you are able to customize how much the tongue is able to flex) and a lightened aluminum/stainless steel runner. The outsole is lighter as well, and has four vents to help with ventilation. Just want to clarify that it isn't merely a lightened-up ONE95. While the fit is the same, the cut is tweaked (that's where the increased range of motion comes in) and it is noticeable if you hold an ONE95 to a TotalONE side by side. Following the TotalONE is the ONE100, which essentially is an ONE95 with a thick felt tongue. Also comes in a bit cheaper than the ONE95 as well. The other skates in the line feature a felt tongue and replace last year's models, however the ONE70 is a new model for 2010. Vapor line is unchanged for 2010. Steel has also been changed for 2010. Bauer is going to be consistent with all of their steel across the board - they will all be 9' and will come in clamshells (shop employees thank you around the world.) There will also be a travel set for people to carry a spare set of steel with them. Sticks - Vapor line was introduced in Q4 2009 so no surprises there. Supreme ONE95 will carry on for one more season with Bauer branding. One noteworthy addition is wood and composite plugs to fit Vapor and Supreme shaft shapes. Helmets - While the 9500 was a very good helmet, it had some fit issues with certain head shapes. The helmet was tweaked fit-wise and is now the 9900. It's a bit wider, almost drawing from the 8500 profile, however, there's a bit more under the hood. Poron XRD was added in between the layers to help dissipate impact. The 7500 is also a new helmet, and it replaces the 5500, which was a very popular helmet. The 5500 fit carries over to the 7500, but with an updated shell. Gloves - Vapor got the remodeling this year, and the top glove is the X:60, which will come in two models - regular and Pro. The X:60 features segmented rolls, Vent Armor padding, a flexible flared cuff on top, PU/cable knit cover and a nash/lycra/PU wear pad palm. The Pro is all nylon and has a digital palm. Supreme line is unchanged. Protective - Vapor line is changed for 2010 starting with the X:60 series. Vent Armor is added in key areas (shoulder caps/chest and spine plate) and features ventilated padding in the chest and back, adjustable bicep padding, and a ThermoCore liner. Elbow pads feature segmented padding in the cap and bicep along with a tweaked anchor strap system to lock it down in place. The shinpads feature a multiple layer knee cap, an adjustable calf wing and a wrap strap which goes around the knee and calf. The pants feature Vent Armor in the spine pad as well as full range of motion built in the hip and kidney pads. All of the pants are featuring zippers with windows for those who like to open the pants up. Supreme line is unchanged.
  5. Yet you guys claim Philly any chance you get. :P
  6. dpt - The upgraded holder is worth it. Granted, I sharpen with the base holder (which they are discontinuing) but it took some work to get it dialed in to work for me, and I'm extremely technical. The upgraded holder is very accurate and simpler to use. I saw it last weekend in MI and it is identical to the professional-grade one that comes on the standard machines, just with a lower height. For someone just starting out, the X01 will fit your needs.
  7. ...helped the steel retain an incredible edge. Not a bust.
  8. He's probably talking about the ProLite 2.
  9. Do the math - 2 pairs a month at $7 a pair vs $4 a pair at ProformanceEdges - NoIcing $14 a month x 12 = $168 vs $8 a month x 12 = $96 - saving $72 a year for the same thing Quit spamming.
  10. Been on my ONE95s for quite a while...time to move on LOL
  11. They're buried in the bag, but I think you are right, 7k Pro.
  12. Since we're doing TBL gloves, just picked these up for Drew - Half porto, half nylon, single side pads. I also moved on to RBK elbow pads. Have Gary Roberts' 8k Pros on now; just like those but w/o the extension. It's a little bit longer than my 5044s but it works.
  13. Yeah, and my phone does a better job at it than yours :P

    2010 Reebok 11k Skates
  15. I was going to pull the trigger on one last year but Reebok didn't have them yet (authentic) I'll do it this year but unless I go to a game in STL, I won't get a chance to wear it.
