  1. I'm really not looking forward to the day I begin my recovery from a potential third transplant. The last time I was out of my tree with all the steroids and other meds you're on the first few days after a transplant. I thought the walls had bugs crawling all over them. I thought they had a brothel operating in the hospital. I pulled my IV out twice because I thought someone was trying to hurt me. Not fun for that time.
  2. Not surprised. The fact he didn’t skate in the third and players said he couldn’t talk. It’ll be interesting to see who Cassidy decides to put in the lineup.
  3. It’s not easy to sleep in a hospital as it is. So now it’s 11:50 & my roommate decides to turn his light on and has to have a bowl of cereal. WTF. 🤦🏻‍♂️
  4. Should be a good game 5 on Thursday. All the games it seemed as though the winning team thoroughly outplayed the other. Only difference is the Blues win had a closer score. Even though they dominated the Bruins in their wins.
  5. I saw a locker room interview and noticed blocker and catcher labeled as practice. I never knew that was a thing. Pretty interesting.
  6. So I got my drain upsized and it should be for the last time. The bad news it’s going to stay in for another 3 months.
  7. Gotta love those dopes who have no regard for anyone else. I took a stick in the mouth one time. Snapped my tooth off right at the gum line. That was a long night until I could get to a dentist.
  8. I’m at the ER and I’m going to be admitted. Most likely the doctors from interventional radiology will change out the drain tube today or tomorrow.
  9. So Sunday night my drain site looks to be infected. Then Monday I have a low-grade fever most of the day. The transplant clinic tells me to call tomorrow or come in if I develop a high fever. Felt crappy all day and was worried that I might be developing another infection. Then to top it off early Monday evening I get the tube caught on the edge of my bathroom vanity and it pulls the tube almost four inches out of my skin. So now besides the low-grade fever, I'm having quite a bit of pain on my left side. I really hate this f@&%ing drain!!!!
  10. I went in for my latest drain upsizing yesterday. they decided not to give me any antibiotics after I went home. Keeping fingers crossed I don't end up in the hospital with another infection next week. since both times after the PTC drain, I've ended up in the hospital for at least a week. So the plan is they'll do one more upsizing in two weeks. Then they'll leave it in for three months ( there goes my summer) before permanently removing the drain altogether. So I guess if everything goes right I might get to skate again this year.
  11. I agree. Doc has lost his fastball. He makes a lot of mistakes now. As for McGuire, he’s only good if you want to know every team a player has played for since he was 5
  12. His cohosts were telling him it was a dick move. Hopefully the B’s can end it on Thursday. By the looks of it Wagner is probably going to be out. Good thing Acciari is healthy. Rask plus the Bruins depth has really shown Carolina’s weaknesses. Keeping my my fingers crossed I’ll be home to watch it.
  13. I had my first upsizing of my drain last week. Everything was going well until today. I started again with fevers. Went in to the transplant clinic to get checked out. Things were a little worse than I thought. Besides the infection that is giving me fevers I’m having abnormally low blood pressure. So to control that they decided to put in a central line so the meds can be more effective. Now I’m waiting to go to a room in the ICU. Not exactly how I planned for today to go.
  14. Got out of the hospital on Saturday. Still a little sore but happy to be out Just in time for Easter. Plus the Bruins won today.
  15. Headed back to Boston. Huge effort from the B’s today. Played more like I thought they would today. It should be a great game Tuesday night. Toronto’s D has been much better than a lot of people thought they be. Goalies have been almost equal. Edge to Anderson. Can’t wait.
  16. He stared at DeBrusk before deciding to cross check him in the face. He should miss games next year as well. I put the over/under on games he’s suspended at 11
  17. Completely shocked. After watching them dominate against top teams this year that’s the only to describe it. If they lose to Columbus. Let’s hope they don’t follow Nashville and put up a president trophy banner on opening night.
  18. Well I’m back in the hospital. I have some infections that have been keeping my temp up. It topped off at 103.5. Gotten two rounds of IV antibiotics chest X-ray and CT. Now Waiting for the transplant team. Not how I expected today to go.
  19. I’m finally going home soon. Although early results of the biopsy is a recurrence of my PSC. Not exactly the news I wanted.
  20. Got through the procedure. They forgot to do a biopsy yesterday so now they have to do it today 🙄 May have to stay one more night.
  21. Tomorrow’s the day I get my drains put in. If the last time was any indication, it’s going to be a long few months. Hoping for a long playoff run by the Bruins to help me get through. 😉
  22. It’s been forever since I’ve played in a beer league game, but I couldn’t agree more. We had a ref yell at someone on the other team to “Go home and beat your wife!”
  23. I just found out that there’s a chance I might have a recurrence of my liver disease PSC Well I’m going to have to go in for a procedure. A PTC (Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography) which basically means I’m going to have a tube(s) to drain my liver for 2-6 months. Last time I had to go through this was before my second transplant. It’s not a guarantee that it’s a recurrence of the PSC but because of my history the doctors think it’s more likely that not it’s back. I’ve felt extremely fortunate to have received two transplants & to get a second and third chance at life. But right now the thought of going through all this again seems so difficult. Especially the drains put in my liver. The last time it was extremely painful. I ended up being put on fentanyl patches. That was a nightmare in it’s own right. Hoping that I don’t have to have another transplant, but if I do I’ll be one of the only hockey players that have had 3 transplants. Wish me luck
