  1. There is nothing comparable besides VH/TRUE. Period.
  2. Front and back tower height kind of things. Any info really. Just alot of speculation off of pics was the last I can recall on the topic. Discussion of aesthetics and such.
  3. Anyword on if we can acquire Step holders with out buying VH skates? Also any specs on said holders yet?
  4. Won't lie.... Little disappointed in that offering from Vaugh R&D. Very pedestrian.
  5. Not sure how I feel when some one says "Dont believe the hype." Or anything along those lines when it comes to FBV. And I won't lie..... I am totally using religion as a comparison.
  6. Hey ChrisB, sounds like you should try VH....... Just sayin'.
  7. Ouch ...... Sharpeners....... first to get blamed last to get credit.
  8. Would like to know how the depth is, as my inner ankle bones sit forward and the last skate with traditional eyelets that I didnt have to alter with more padding was the RBZ. My current skating shoe knives are MX3's which the inner ankle padding has flattened to nothing after just over 2 years. As well as the Mako's fit, they don't come with the protection, height, or energy return that other top model skates come with. Really hoping these fit deep enough to get into.
  9. Take the E28 blade shape and rocker ... keep straight till 3/4's towards the toe, then a nice closed toe curve no bigger than gionta with with a 4 lie. This sounds perfect in my mind ;)
  10. Pertaining to the CCM lace locks.... for best inside skate results use the RBK female helmet bits. They are the slimmest and will cause the least amount of problems.
  11. Hey JR, would you happen to have a better set of pics for the shins?
  12. Im hoping the shins are akin to the old Vector 10.0 shins.
  13. Other boots are stiff for protection and energy return and as far as I know most other boots are taller for this reason. So that when you bend into them they snap themselves back out essentially giving you quicker feet. I wrote a review on the OG Mako's I demo'd in this thread I think with a lot more detail
  14. Only drawbacks of the Mako skates IMHO has always been energy return, protection, and durability. The latter has been taken out of the equation from all reports. I suggest shot blockers.
  15. Agreed ... I have the same issue as Gun and fbvnyc on my X02. The top bearing is hard to get on and then it is loose once it is all the way up. Taper isn't the word I would choose but after about and inch or so of sliding it on, which is tough, it moves freely after that until I have it in place. I also get the wobble which always worries me. But alas just as NYC stated some things must be let to slide.
  16. My shop has only seen a handful of loose edge blades in their holders and those are mainly, if not only from junior players whose usage on edge holders is ten times that of a beer leaguer.
  17. Plz explain why you don't want something, like a footbed, to fit exactly to the bottom of your flat feet? O.o
  18. I'm happy to see the 37.5 reaching all the gear but am curious about the aluminized curve composite quarter package of the new Vapor skate. How does that work ? Energy return ? Protection ? Weight ?
