  1. Just saw this on Insta so was wondering if there was any info out there or are we waiting for something to drop? Very interested in the next iteration of the Rekker.
  2. Depends on your level of OCD in the amount of attention you have with your gear I would say. I personally use to tape my stick every game. Spent 30 mins most times getting it just right. Then 15 years ago I switched to blade tape and now it's not a thing anymore. And yes people always say well that leaves the bottom of the blade and toe exposed but since I stopped worrying about that when I started using blade tape my sticks usually outlast my blade tape. As an added bonus the stick slides nicer on the ice and the grip is always there when needed.
  3. Hhhmmm i still use it ...... Might have to pick some up from ebay if you cannot it find elsewhere.
  4. There is nothing comparable besides VH/TRUE. Period.
  5. Noting first that in theory, I do like the idea of a OPB(oot). But, having said that. Nothing about that skate seems like much of an upgrade over the previous version. And, is it just me, or are all MFG's failing at the top of the skate ankle edge pad?
  6. Front and back tower height kind of things. Any info really. Just alot of speculation off of pics was the last I can recall on the topic. Discussion of aesthetics and such.
  7. Anyword on if we can acquire Step holders with out buying VH skates? Also any specs on said holders yet?
  8. Won't lie.... Little disappointed in that offering from Vaugh R&D. Very pedestrian.
  9. I was under the impression Thermablades didnt make it because of not getting NHL exposure. As I thought they were deemed an advantage by the NHL competition committee and therefore banned. But anwho, I digress. IMHO Thermablades did exactly what FBV and Sk8 Fuel do. Which is add about 5% or more glide to a players stride. Got to use the Thermablades and had zero problems. Worked as advertised.
  10. Not sure how I feel when some one says "Dont believe the hype." Or anything along those lines when it comes to FBV. And I won't lie..... I am totally using religion as a comparison.
  11. Hey ChrisB, sounds like you should try VH....... Just sayin'.
  12. Ouch ...... Sharpeners....... first to get blamed last to get credit.
  13. Would like to know how the depth is, as my inner ankle bones sit forward and the last skate with traditional eyelets that I didnt have to alter with more padding was the RBZ. My current skating shoe knives are MX3's which the inner ankle padding has flattened to nothing after just over 2 years. As well as the Mako's fit, they don't come with the protection, height, or energy return that other top model skates come with. Really hoping these fit deep enough to get into.
  14. Take the E28 blade shape and rocker ... keep straight till 3/4's towards the toe, then a nice closed toe curve no bigger than gionta with with a 4 lie. This sounds perfect in my mind ;)
  15. Pertaining to the CCM lace locks.... for best inside skate results use the RBK female helmet bits. They are the slimmest and will cause the least amount of problems.
  16. Hey JR, would you happen to have a better set of pics for the shins?
  17. Im hoping the shins are akin to the old Vector 10.0 shins.
  18. All I am saying is, that is an exception, not a rule of thumb for fitting. There is no good reason to go up half a size. Others have already said that a profiling would fix this. Also a skate even half a size too big can mess with your stride. Even though your brain can compensate, changing your stride because now your skates are too big and your toe wants to touch down before it should can lead to long term groin/hip etc., injuries.
