  1. All I am saying is, that is an exception, not a rule of thumb for fitting. There is no good reason to go up half a size. Others have already said that a profiling would fix this. Also a skate even half a size too big can mess with your stride. Even though your brain can compensate, changing your stride because now your skates are too big and your toe wants to touch down before it should can lead to long term groin/hip etc., injuries.
  2. Other boots are stiff for protection and energy return and as far as I know most other boots are taller for this reason. So that when you bend into them they snap themselves back out essentially giving you quicker feet. I wrote a review on the OG Mako's I demo'd in this thread I think with a lot more detail
  3. Only drawbacks of the Mako skates IMHO has always been energy return, protection, and durability. The latter has been taken out of the equation from all reports. I suggest shot blockers.
  4. That is awesome Croiso. I got the exact same old sharpener currently sitting in my garage waiting for me to restore it. But I use an X2 Blackstone currently and plan on messing with that as well.
  5. Agreed ... I have the same issue as Gun and fbvnyc on my X02. The top bearing is hard to get on and then it is loose once it is all the way up. Taper isn't the word I would choose but after about and inch or so of sliding it on, which is tough, it moves freely after that until I have it in place. I also get the wobble which always worries me. But alas just as NYC stated some things must be let to slide.
  6. Agreed. Should have left out the term haglunds. I assume it is the clinical name for "Bauer Bumps". The bumps on the heel that get irritated can be managed is what I was trying to say. Should have been more specific.
  7. For all the "Bauer Bumps" / Haglunds sufferers.... I offer this advice. Get yourself a foot file. The bumps are just a build up of skin like a callus. When I had the "B.B.'s", I would file them down at the end of a shower at home.
  8. My shop has only seen a handful of loose edge blades in their holders and those are mainly, if not only from junior players whose usage on edge holders is ten times that of a beer leaguer.
  9. Plz explain why you don't want something, like a footbed, to fit exactly to the bottom of your flat feet? O.o
  10. I'm happy to see the 37.5 reaching all the gear but am curious about the aluminized curve composite quarter package of the new Vapor skate. How does that work ? Energy return ? Protection ? Weight ?
  11. Seems that the marking on my stone is higher when the numbers are down. Approximately 6 clicks up on my holder. Going to try the numbers up again and see where the mark is. Whatever makes the marking on the stone more centered will determine which way I will put my spinner for the rest of my sharpening machines life.
  12. My helmet fits to good to even consider putting something on my head besides my helmet.
  13. Will give you that but, I wanted the new suspend tech with moisture(sweat) management at the front pushing it to the sides as the original re-akt just drips out the front all over my visor. Which I see as the only drawback to the original re-akt.
  14. A lil' disappointed about the change in fit from the reakt to the reakt100 as I really like all the new internals of the 100 but it just does not fit my head as good as the original.
  15. The whole point of Mako skates is ROM, (range of motion) which in turn sacrifices ankle support, due to how low cut the boot is.
  16. https://www.dropbox.com/sc/4gjtg15o0o6nods/AAB8ny_ARx_iNI6KLwkhRqrQa Don't know if it was wiped away when the crash happened.
  17. How long before the QR1 is offered on the customizer?
  18. Thanx Chadd might have to go with 2 Ruby and 1 Orange.
  19. Can someone please tell me the difference between the 3 wheels ( orange, ruby, and pink) for the X02 series sharpeners before I drop almost 40$ in shipping costs on 2 wheels. Any insight is much appreciated.
