I was really thinking about ordering a new pair of gloves, and your pictures aren't helping. I definitely don't NEED them, but they are oh so pretty.... BTW sick collection. You've got some really nice gloves in there. I especially like those Canadiens/Caps/Rangers RBK 4-rolls.

2009 Eagle Catalogue
HattrickSwayze replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in 2009 Product Catalogue Reviews
Those aren't really very different options are they? Either way it isn't good. Well I meant is it a voluntary move to bring the X72 down in price to try and sell more, or a cost cutting move because of the economy or something? But no, not very good. Although I'd assume you can still get the MSH palm via custom, bummer it won't be available retail. I'll be interested to see what the new retail price is. Some of the Mission pants are lace-up front, some of the NBH Vapor pants, I think the Warriors, and then the older CCM Tacks. -

It says the X72's this year are using a Nash palm instead of MSH2 with an MSH1 overlay. Cost cutting measure, or are they trying to lower the price on the X72's to compete with other companies?? -
2009 Warrior Catalogue

Does anyone know what the price point is going to be with the Hustler and Hitman shoulder pads?? The Hustler's look pretty bulky in the pictures, but the Hitman pads don't look too bad. The collarbone/shoulder protection looks pretty good. -
Looks like a mirrored version of the Kovalchuk pro stock, or vice versa.
-
That looks really good. How'd you do it?? Paint pens?

2009 Reebok Catalogue
HattrickSwayze replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in 2009 Product Catalogue Reviews
I didn't see it in the catalogue so I'm assuming no, but is Reebok planning on releasing uncrested versions of teams third jerseys?? That'd be nice if they did. I bet the Penguins and Oilers thirds would sell like hot cakes. -
Was it hard to put the different tongues on, or are you a veteran sewer??

2009 Warrior Catalogue

Oooh DO IT. That'd be awesome. Same here. They just look so big and bulky? I think their description of "armadillo armor" is spot on. I'd like to see what they're like in person. If the Smyth curve is going bye-bye, I might have to hurry and order one and see if I like it. I didn't figure they'd drop it this year. It must not be selling very well. -
Just curious as to what you mean by "it's made like a Vector"? What are the main differences between them?
-
First use of the Kovalchuk blade tonight. The 75 flex felt awesome, and I had no problem gettin used to the curve. I wasn't gonna use it in a game yet because I was afraid it would get stepped on or broken. Everything was good until I took a faceoff with less than a minute to go, and someone slashed my stick and fucking broke it. First use, after waiting for a month, and the thing's broken already. It snapped the hosel right where it goes into the shaft. I was pissed and heartbroken all at the same time. I guess I need to find a new blade now...

Blackstone Flat-Bottom V Thread
HattrickSwayze replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Any shops in Washington that have this? I'd love to try it after reading about it. -
I don't normally have a tough time adjusting to curves. I've been using a Hogeboom pro stock with a little bit of a toe hook on it, so this shouldn't be a big deal. I'll see how it works in warm-ups before I use it in the game. I'm more worried about some one stepping on it or something during face-offs.

No, I bid a few times on TBL's auction but stopped when I saw it go over $60. $117 for a single blade is nuts. I ended up finding this stick as a Buy it Now on eBay a few days after that auction ended, for not much more money. It was exactly what I was looking for, with the 75 flex and Kovalchuk blade, so I didn't hesitate to pick it up. :D Now knowing my luck, it'll break the first time I use it.

Nice looking gloves TBL. Are they Rangers?? New stick finally came today. X-mas, snow, and flood delays mean it took almost a month to get here, but it was worth it. Dolomite 75 flex shaft with a pro stock Kovalchuk blade. First use later on tonight. I like the concave feel of the Dolo shaft. I didn't know it was concave like that, so that was a nice surprise.
-
That Samsonov looks nice. Looks like it's got just a little hook on the end of the toe there, sorta like the Hogeboom 7V pro stock I have. Find it on eBay?? My new stick was supposed to be here today after almost a month of waiting, but the friggin FedEx guy drove right on by!! Now I have to wait until Monday....

White skates w/ white tongues, and white gloves. That's flashy as hell, but damn does that stuff look good. I really like those skates.
-
That last pic going off the crossbar is sweet. Do you guys have like a professional photographer come out and take pictures or what?
-
Cool pictures. Pretty professional looking photos. I love the euro jerseys with the sponsors too.
-
Kachun, how much do they charge for those at the store? I want to get one of those.
-
umm, smyth? The Smyth is pretty close to some of the more banana-like Kovalchuks, but if you want a different sort of toe curve, you're out of luck. That's kinda what I was getting at.
-
There's so many people looking for Kovalchuk-esque toe curves, I think they'd have to put out a retail line just to satisfy everyone. I'm worried that I'm going to love the Kovalchuk curve, and then it's going to break. What the hell will I do then??
-
He's a member here. I figured he was. The picture from the auction looks just like one I have saved from patterndb.org.
-
I finally found what I've been looking for. A 75 flex Dolomite shaft with a Kovalchuk pro stock blade. About time I found one!! I can't wait to get it. Just wanted to gloat about that real quick. Here's a pic from the auction.

Ya know my Synergy SE6's were the same way. They rubbed enough on my thumb that it actually peeled the skin off. But once they got broken in and sweated in a bunch, they loosened up quite a bit. Now my SE6's are unbelievably comfy. So I'm hoping once I get some ice time in these, they'll do the same thing. I've only worn these around the house a little today and the knuckles on my left fingers are a little irritated already. So I'm not looking forward to having my knuckles worn raw while wearing them in...
