  1. Those are really nice. Where'd you snag those from?
  2. I also received my 520s today. They are the newer vented style, marked 520ECHL. They fit pretty true to size I feel. I wear a size 50 in Tacklas and wear a large in Bauer One80s. The 520s in size medium fit me pretty well. I'm right about 6'0 and 190 and they're good on waist and length. I think a size large would've been too bulky personally.
  3. Chadd, the depth picture in your review looks similar to what I experienced with my MLX skates. Mind you, I have a very high instep (Supremes are too shallow for me), but my foot was exploding out of the MLX. Skating with them though, I never had any issues that I could attribute to the depth. After baking them, they were like slippers. I've never had a skate fit like that, and I still miss that with my TotalOne's. Wish I would have done custom MLX when I had the chance.
  4. Yeah, I didn't get a 100% straight answer either. Last time I talked to him he had just seen the pictures/info of the skates and sounded pretty excited about them, so I'm hoping they'll at least get a couple pairs in to check out. Just keep hinting at how great the MLX were and how bad you want another pair like them, and maybe that will help.
  5. I really, really want these skates to fit me.
  6. The new Amp sticks have a great look to them. What are the price points going to be? And I assume the OV8 curve is a special order? Hard to tell from the catalog but it doesn't look as extreme as most Ovechkin clone curves.
  7. Agreed, I'm really impressed with some of their new products. The Mako protective looks pretty interesting. I'm a little disappointed the E28 pattern is only going to be available on the Mako stick though.
  8. What would you say they were comparable to depth-wise? That was my only issue with my MLX.
  9. New sticks I got this week. Retail Dynasty 75 flex Gionta, and a pro stock AK27 with Widow blade construction and the shaved heel. It has a tag inside that says "VASYUNOV" and WDM3026. 245 Warrior/INNO flex rating, so around 100 flex regular. The stamp on the back also says "245299136" and "C5." I know that the first numbers relate to the flex, shaft weight, and blade weight. Do the WDM3026 and C5 numbers mean anything specific? The shaft has the super square geometry to it as well. The pictures don't show the curves very well, but in person it's pretty similar to the Gionta, just with more heel in it. Gionta on left. AK27 on right. Widow blade construction.
  10. Just got these today. After struggling with my Reebok's I was in the market for new skates, so I'm hoping these will work out a lot better. Scored them for $290 shipped brand new from Pure Hockey.
  11. They do. The 405XS comes in 75 flex now.
  12. Newest pick ups. Got everything for the grand total of about $180.
  13. I hope they are deeper than the MLX skates. I loved mine except they were not nearly deep enough. That and the fact both boots broke twice on me. Looking forward to checking these out.
  14. Latest impulse buy. Nike branded Bauer pants. Made in Canada with a IIHF collection tag on the inside. Not sure what or where these are from. Awesome pants but they are a long size so they may not get used. I'm not tall enough to warrant the extra inseam length.
  15. Been eyeballing these for a long time and finally pulled the trigger. Nice pants for the money.
  16. Actually got these a while ago but I don't think I ever posted them. Columbus Eagle PPF's rebranded as Reebok's. Probably the softest pair of gloves I've ever put my hands in.
  17. No problem. Glad they showed up on time. Hopefully they fit you better than they fit me.
  18. For sure. I think these gloves get overlooked a little bit, but as you said at the $100 price point these definitely rank towards the top. The only differences I can really tell between these Pro Bully's and my Pro Series are that the mesh gussets are different, the palm is slightly different, and the foam padding might be a little softer on the Bully's. Without having the Pro Series on hand, I'm only going off memory on the foams though, so I could be wrong. They are definitely comfortable though. Regarding Wideman's gloves, they are the reason I bought these. I was one step away from ordering custom Combat gloves in nearly the same color scheme when I saw these. Definitely saved me a few bucks.
  19. Yeah I did. They're not bad quality for the price. They don't feel quite as soft as the Franchises, and they're a little snugger, but I haven't used them on ice yet. My other Pro Series were really really comfortable and held up well after a few months of use. My girlfriend is using them now and as far as I know they're still going strong. Custom Franchises made in Canada would obviously be a much higher quality glove, but I have a hard time justifying the extra $110+ dollars. I used a 10% off coupon and got these for about $108 shipped. Right now I'm happy with them, but I'll see how they hold up after some ice time.
  20. New Pro Bully gloves. Embroidered logo, plastic inserts, and these have a yellow liner in them so they look more like the Franchise. Looks better than the bright blue liner that was in my other Pro Series gloves.
  21. Newest pick ups. They were too cheap to pass up.
  22. I actually got those from Krev a while ago. He sold them to me for a really good price. They're 2-piece pro stock pants, with the NHL logo on the back of the leg. Pretty awesome pants. They're practically bulletproof.
  23. It's a general assembler/installer position working on 767's for Boeing Commercial Airplane. It looks like you basically do a little bit of everything, which is right up my alley. I'm not partial to doing the same exact thing 40x a day. Basically, it's a foot in the door to what could be a career if I want it to. The benefits are great, it's relatively close to me, and there's plenty of opportunities to move within the company later on.
  24. Had the pants for a while, picked up the gloves and helmet on closeout from Hockey Monkey.
  25. Got a job offer at Boeing. Just waiting for references to go through before I'm scheduled to start orientation. The shift takes me out of playing league hockey for the season, and most likely a whole year, but I'm stoked about the opportunity.
