Here's one of my new goodies. Harrow 300 shaft with 300 blade. I've got some more new stuff on the way, should hopefully all be here tomorrow if I'm lucky.

Didn't he just have heart surgery in the offseason??

Larrivee, do those fit similar to the RBK sizing? I'm assuming so, since RBK more or less too kover the Jofa line. I remember when people were first looking for those I found a bunch of sites with them in size 5. Now that I could need a new set of elbows, they're nowhere to be found. I'm just wondering whether I could fit a size large or not, I'm in a medium in RBK 4k's.

Un-Written Rules of Hockey
HattrickSwayze replied to DoublinUp's topic in General Hockey Discussions
The other night at a pick-up game I went to, a guy came out to play with us in just gloves and a helmet. Mind you everybody else wears full gear. I thought he was just doing the warm-up at first, but he stuck around for a half hour or so into the game. Nobody wanted to pressure the guy or take shots when he was out there. Atleast put on some shin pads??? -
Send him back to Russia. He's a turd anyways.

Man I wish I could find some righty sticks like that. That curve and Kris Beech's curve are absolutely beautiful. You're a lucky dude.

Un-Written Rules of Hockey
HattrickSwayze replied to DoublinUp's topic in General Hockey Discussions
agreed. for about the first 2-4 games per season, i find myself yelling at dudes to "keep your stick down, or take your cage off" one guy did it again after i told him to watch it and i ended up chasing him to his bench... where his teammates echoed my sentiments. most people over the age of 25 seem to get it, though. here's another unwritten rule: PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH. if you're going to lecture everyone on the bench, follow it up on the ice. Either older players or players higher up the skill ladder. The times I've been lumberjacked in the head have all been by lower level players with cages. The other week at pick-up I went to get a guy in front of the net, a pass goes through his feet, and he whirls around with his stick at shoulder level. He looked like a helicopter and just about took my head off. Luckily I was wearing a cage at the time. As I play with higher skilled players (most of whom wear visors or nothing), there's less and less high sticking around. Accidents do happen, but there's generally no reason to have your stick that high. Some people just don't understand that. And yes, I agree with practice what you preach. I've played on and have watched a team where the most vocal guy on the bench is the laziest and most undisciplined player on the team. Yelling and telling everybody what to do, but can't finish the game because he's so out of shape and sits in the penalty box atleast 2 times a game. I suppose I can't really fault him for being out of shape, but if you're going to coach the whole team, atleast lead by example. -
Un-Written Rules of Hockey

I think everybody should be required to play without a visor or cage at some point. I don't think you're completely aware of how vulnerable you are until the first time you play without anything covering your face or eyes. -
I think you just got unlucky like me. My first one broke within a week or two as well, but my current one (knock on wood) has been going strong for a few months now. It's well beat up and taken some hard slashes, but still going strong. Unfortunately the toe is chipping from digging a puck off the boards last week. If I could find more I'd snatch them up.

No kidding. Normally he stick handles and leg kicks his way right into the goalies lap, and then tries to go backhand. You have a 900 mph snap shot, use it!! -
2009 Reebok Catalogue
HattrickSwayze replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in 2009 Product Catalogue Reviews
Wanted to bump this to see if anyone knows. I'd love to get a pair of EDGE socks from Philly's orange uni's. Maybe available next spring? -
The Pens play-by-play guys are tards. Biggest homer announcers I've heard, especially Steggy or w/e his name is. Just the way he calls the games make the most mundane tasks seem like we're watching Superman perform miracles. I'd rather listen to Rick Jeannerette scream 'scooooooooooooaaaaaaarrrreesss' the whole game.

2009-2010 Washington Capitals Thread
HattrickSwayze replied to Allsmokenopancake's topic in NHL Discussions
Yeah, but that's next year, and let's not forget Backstrom and Semin are both UFA's at the end of the year as well. That's going to take up atleast Theodore's and Nylander's cap space. You shouldn't score 5-6 goals in a game and narrowly win or lose. IMO, 6 goals tonight wasn't AS bad as the 4 against the Leafs, simply because of who's in the Flyers line-up. Plus, that one goal was giftwrapped and hand delivered from Varlamov to Richards. If this team had a better D-corps, they could steamroll most teams simply because of their offense. I really want this team to be good, but I think in the end their D-corps and goaltending are going to let them down. -

Hopefully it won't take until the trade deadline for them to find one. Flyers are going to be good this year. They've got too good of a line-up. -
2009-2010 Washington Capitals Thread

It'll be interesting to see how the Caps play against the Flyers. I think Carcillo and Pronger by themselves are meaner than the whole Caps organization. I'm still not entirely convinced, as much as I want to be, that the Caps are solid Cup contenders. When you look at the roster, it's kind of a rag-tag combination of players. They played well together the first 2 games, but Boston played terrible and they gave up 4 goals against Toronto of all teams. Philly's offense on the other hand has a lot of horsepower. Gagne, Richards, Carter, Briere, and even Hartnell. Caps defense isn't very convincing either, but atleast Schultz is on the 3rd pairing... I think the team is going to have to rely on getting 4 goals a game to compete for a top spot in the conference. Tonight will be a good test I think. -
Kris Beech's pro curve is pretty similar to the Samsonov, maybe with a little extra toe on it. http://site.hockeymonkey.com/images/produc...lades/Beech.jpg Hockey Monkey still has some of his pro stock Mission's in stock. 80 flex too. How I wish those were righty's... If you're a lefty, you shouldn't have a real hard time finding toe curves. I see a lot more lefty's on eBay and places like Hockey Monkey than I do for righty's.

I haven't used a One95... I was torn between a Rimouski Oceanic pro stock One95, or the retail shaft. I don't think it'd be too easy to just slap the tactile grip on a XXXX shaft... maybe one of the shop guys can chime in. I emailed Pure Hockey, and they said they're genuine One95's special made for them with a .520 taper. I'm pretty close to pulling the trigger on one. A 77 flex shaft would be sweet for when I get my new blades. Machinehead, I'm jealous of the stuff you got at the Thrashers sale, especially the Kovy sticks. Interesting that there's a Reebok 10k in there. Is it the same curve as the others??
-
I think it's just where the graphics have peeled off. Sick curve though, whose is it?? Kind of reminds me of a lefty version of the Samsonov.
-
Weird. Maybe it's an SMU or something? As far as I know Bauer doesn't do One95 tapered shafts, apart from pro stock stuff? Might have to look into one of those, since I'm a big fan of the One95's.
-
OK thanks. Since I haven't seen the X60 shaft anywhere, plus it being in the 2010 Bauer catalogue, I'm assuming it won't be out in October? Kind of a bummer, I was hoping to pick one up. Cams, It's the measurement at the bottom of the taper that determines whether it accepts short hosel tapered blades or long hosel standard blades. Standard sizes are .620 and tapered are .520. Typically tapered shafts have a lower kickpoint (ala the Vapor XXXX) and standards will kick a bit higher (One95). The Vapor XXXX's taper is only available on the OPS, they don't make shafts with that small of a taper, as far as I know.
-
Sorry if I missed this already, but are there plans for an X60 shaft? If so, does anybody know anything about it?
-
Ah man, I meant to bid on those but I had to go to work. I really wanted the white ones. I'm jealous. That Briere curve looks a bit different than it did in the eBay picture. I almost bought one of those too, now I'm kinda glad I didn't. Not at all the curve I was expecting.
-
The local Play it Again here has a few lefty S19's in stock already. I'm hoping they'll get some X60's in early too. I'm eager to check it out and see how it feels.
-
How do they fit compared to the X72's? Same finger length, just longer cuff? I'm pullin the trigger on that same pair of gloves tonight.
-
The Stick 'Um version is silver at the bottom though. That's gotta be a pro stock.
