  1. Ya I saw that. I might also just use duct tape. It tape the inside of the boot where the ridge is. Luckily for me it's not painful but annoying. I don't know why it's designed so poorly in that area. Why wouldn't they make the inside of the tow box as smooth as possible or at least line it with some smooth padding.
  2. I just had my second skate with the as1 and it was night and day better. No pain at all. I wore the skates inside the house for probably 2-3 hrs at a time the last two days and it def made a huge difference. I realized that alot of the issue was due to tightening the laces too much which I didn't think would be an issue. I literally had to tie them the same way as with my trues, which was barely any tension. I put some duct tape over some areas on my foot that were rubbing/pinching and it worked wonders. Was really able to enjoy the skates. My left pinky toe does rub against the ridge of the toe box where it meets the boot though. Not sure why CCM designed it so there's nothing covering that area which is just hard raised plastic. ... I don't think that area can be punched out and it's too tight to get in there to and or file down. It didn't cause pain but a bit annoying feeling it.
  3. Or if you're getting a CCM just shell out the extra 100 bucks for the 3d custom. If you fit a retail skate without diff size feet it's prob a pretty good alternative.
  4. Lol I finally unloaded my black tuuk edge holders on there. Thought I'd never get rid of them. Now if only I can get rid of my true holders ...
  5. Have to say that's pretty good of them to just send it no questions asked really. Just take it as a backup regardless 😉
  6. I've sold five things on there in the last two weeks. Good way to unload old gear or gear I don't want. It's nice that it's in USD since I'm from Canada (as a seller). You folks in the states pay quite a bit more for hockey gear. If you low ball, worst case is you don't get it. If someone low balls you, who cares. Ignore.
  7. I get that errors happen. But reading the ones on here and then experiencing it more or less first hand is a bit of a deal breaker for me. I have trues when they first partnered with vh. Mine turned out good. But my confidence in the company is lessening more and more. His toe issue was to the point where he couldn't get his toes to sit flat bc it was crammed. So the fact that all the foam in the toebox was removed to try to create more space and it still caused issues shows how off it was. He has an extremely high instep and wide feet vs length. He's a 6.5 and doesn't even fit in ee skates in any model. Those issues were clearly stated to the scanner when he was scanned because I was there. I'm not blaming one particular party per se as it could be the scanner too but the fact that there seems to be errors like these happening more than it really should (Imo) means true needs to do something about it. Whether it's training the scanners better, develop a better program, and/or better oversight in QC at the factory, and even more variables to ask about on the order form. Just my two cents.
  8. So my buddy just got his trues in. About two weeks from the date he was scanned. He got his scanning done at an lhs that had done scans since the vh days and they have outfitted the most true/vh in any shop in BC. Anyways. I was there when he got scanned and they used a brannock and everything. He tries his skates on and the volume is way off which was his initial issue he mentioned when he got scanned. The right skate is also way too short and even with the foam removed from that area his toes were crammed in there. So needless to say they need to be remade to accommodate the length of the right skate and the volume of both. The shop has requested additional 1/4" in the facing of eyelets 3-6. This result has pretty much put me off to getting trues in the future, unfortunately. Even if they are willing to remake the skates until it's perfect, it's a lot of time and energy and waiting around. For me I can fit into retail skates without too much issue other than the dreaded break in period, but for my buddy, the reason he went to true was because he literally tried on every make and model with no avail.
  9. I think bc of how long the skates are in the oven it obviously has some affect on the holders especially if you're not careful and put more weight on it than u should during the heat moulding process. Try a very thin piece of Teflon or scotch tape. As thin as u can go to eliminate the noise. If it weren't for the noise would you notice the movement while skating? If not, then it's likely not causing any issues anyway. Are both holders like this?
  10. I can't fit into an ft1. Tried on a ee width and it was still not wide enough.
  11. Just skated on my as1s and holy cow am I in pain. I've actually never felt this kind of pain with new skates before and coming from trues it's even ruder Awakening... Having them baked and wearing inside the house it felt fine. A bit of chaffing in the medial ankle/instep on my right foot but that was the least of my concerns after my ice session. Skating wasn't unbearable, but walking to the dressing room after. Both medial ankles bones were hurting bad. Also my pinky on my left which I had a feeling might give me issues since it was pretty snug during the bake. I have to say though that the skates made me feel a lot more agile on the ice. They are extremely stiff and I had to loosen the too two eyelets to get proper flexion. Looks like there's a high chance I'm going to go through with the 90 day guarantee.
  12. Have you ever tried wearing a size 9 to accommodate your smaller foot. It may actually fit you better than you think, even for yourarger foot.
  13. Crappy it took three makes. But happing ending. Hopefully this prompts some better QC.
  14. Can you remind me what were the initial problems again, lol.
  15. Love the new toe box of the 2x. Overall look I like but the yellow...... Easy fix to cover that up though.
  16. Those skates aren't real ft2s although that's what they "look" like. I think those are the ribcors. You can see the heel has a piece sewed on and it even looks like a two piece boot. Also, it looks just airbrushed and dressed as the carbon is completely different. He didn't even use them in the skills. Wore his old jetspeeds....
  17. Maybe look in your spam folder
  18. My buddy just ordered some trues. I'll for sure take a close look at them when he receives them, and ask him how they feel... He has an huge instep and arch. 6.5ee and can't even fit into anything off the shelf. Not even close.
  19. Just get272s put on. It's already been stated that it can be done without compromising the boot with additional holes. If you're concerned about it, have the shop fill them with epoxy. Or maybe even try some jb weld epoxy putty. If you don't want holes at all then go full custom and get Bauer CCM or whoever to mount 272 holders on the boot. As someone mentioned, for Bauer, 7.5d is still 263. Ee is 272. CCM, however, uses 272 holders for size 7d though.
  20. That's a full size. I would imagine it would feel very obvious. Even a half size is noticeable.
  21. Must be nice to pay only 5% tax 😁
  22. Post pictures. Like Nicholas g said, oversized holders are used a lot. Especially by pros. But the lack of attn to detail is pretty ridiculous. If I were you I'd send the skates back and have THEM remount the holders and fill the holes. And also fix the leather. I know for a fact they can fill the holes bc I've emailed them about filling holes. It still shocks me that these things still slip through QC (or lack therefore).
  23. Never had a problem just shaking the nut out of the home... Twss
