  1. Probably won't know unless you re did the scan and it comes back fine. 6 mths is a long time to tinker around. Since the warranty period has passed, I question whether they will even honour the remake.... There's only so much you can tinker with the heel itself since it's pretty solid. You can adjust the width of the heel but not the height so if that's part of the issue you may be out of luck. Also, how is the arch? My right skate wasn't as dialed in as the left and the one thing that worked really well in locking in the heel and improving overall slippage inside the boot was altering the arch that was initially too flat. Once I increased the arch to suit my feet it felt much better. I also used a heat gun around the ankle area and just below where it's carbon fiber and squeezed the boot with my hands to make it more narrow. Once it cooled I put it on and it felt too narrow but id then heat gun the area again just enough so that the area softened just enough to relieve the tightness and that ended up making the right skate locked in. Should you have to do this for a custom slate? No. But I'm just giving you some ideas and showing you how customizable the skates are. Areas like the arch and below the ankle require more heating and patience as it's really hard carbon fiber.
  2. How old are your skates? Get them to remake. The right
  3. I've owned true and CCM within the last couple of years. I haven't owned Bauer's since my one100s about 8 years ago so I can't comment on them. The trues are by far more durable than the ccm As1s. The as1s are nice skates but they aren't worth the price point Imo. I play about once a week and in three mths the ccms show way more wear than my trues did in 1.5 years. But do your own research and at the end of the day the best fit is really all that matters.
  4. What was used to remove the logos on the holder?
  5. Can someone please post s picture of trues with xs holders? Since getting scanned I've been debating whether to get the xs holders instead of the sb 4.0s...
  6. Just the tongue embroidery. I should've said optional embroidery, my bad. Anyone know if the true brannock is numbered for shoe size or skate. I had a weird time reading it because the slider had a window and wasn't sure what I was supposed to look at for the sizing. And what I saw was 8.5-9 which technically is my shoe size but thought it was weird a skate brannock would have shoe sizing and not skates.... I also looked at the euro sizing which seemed right as it hovered around 41ish/42. I couldn't really see that well bc I was busy trying not to move while standing on it.
  7. Got scanned earlier today 3-4 week turn around. Nothing fancy. Only embroidery upgrade. Went for black regular tongues this time instead of white. Also got them to send the holder unmounted and getting SB 4.0s mounted by my LHS as I have a brand new set of blacksteel for those holders I don't want to waste. Also didn't want to buy another set of blacksteel for the true holders. This time around there were way more photos during the fit process, including pics of the feet on the true brannock and a number of various pics. My first order only had scan and maybe 4 or so pics of my feet. Well see how it goes and if me being aware of my lunge position on my right side makes a diff.
  8. Are the blacksteel for the step/true holders still available? And if so how would I be able to get some? My LHS doesn't seem to be aware of them being available at all. And I've read I cannot get them through True when ordering their skates.
  9. I am going to be re scanned. As some of you might know I had issues with my right skate as it had no arch due to me being in a poor lunge position which flattened out my arch completely. Took a lot of heat gunning and tweaking to get it fitting properly but was perfect after. The left boot fit 100% perfect off the bat from just one bake and no tweaking at all. So this time around I'm gonna be cognizant of how I'm positioned. I might let the lhs to only redo the right possibly, but I'm afraid it may cause some confusion so I may just get everything re done.
  10. Will be re ordering trues again pretty soon. Too obsessed with the comfort and how locked in these skates are vs anything out there that I've tried.
  11. Any plans for different holder designs in the future?
  12. A good fitting skate should not hurt and cause you the issues you are experiencing. Is that not enough reason for you? How much money have you spent going through the different insoles etc. Also as mentioned earlier how many different slates are you going to go through via trial and error before you ultimately realize your foot wasn't made for off the shelf retail skates? You came here asking for advice and people are giving you different options.
  13. If you compare the "wear" on trues Bauer and CCM, there will definitely be a marked difference. Also how a product is able to withstand wear will also determine overall durability over time. Ie a skate that can resist skate blade cuts/gashes better will have better overall durability. Same goes for ability to withstand blocking shots etc. I'm not arguing that over time due to the nature of the sport all equipment will wear down. But how fast something wears under the same/similar condition is in fact due to it's durability.
  14. Well only time will tell if it turns into something worse. That is my only concern at this point. I could care less if it stays this way forever, as you are right it's totally functional right now. And to reply your previous post about durability, I do think CCM has a durability issue whether it's related to structure/integrity or not, the boots aren't very resilient against deep gashes and wear.
  15. How is this diff than sticks breaking within 30 days and was during game play? Even if it was obvious it was due to a blocked shot, getting pucks off your equipment, imo, is part of the game and part of regular play. It's not like it was sliced in half by a skate blade which is more rare and something that would be considered more of a freak accident.
  16. How would that even work for the store then? They do the refund and CCM swaps the used pair with a new one so the store had a new one to sell again?
  17. I preferred my Trues but I like the as1s quite a bit. I can't confirm whether the "damage" was due to premature breakdown for whatever reason, or from an actual incident during one of my games. I would only assume it was from taking a puck or slash or something but there are no cosmetic blemishes like puck marks etc on that area so no I have no idea. I'm not trying to use the warranty or potential satisfaction guarantee as an excuse to get rid or the skates. I'd rather keep these skates bc I've gotten them to the point where they are dialed in for me. I did admit I'd rather have Trues and if I could do it over again I would've kept my trues. As for pics, it doesn't show up on the camera bc of where it is. The area that has the grey/silver graphic.
  18. If that's the case then props to him for being thorough. I have seen a few true skates with either enlarged holes or holes that are a bit off causing rivets to not sit flush and or straight... So if he's willing to go the extra step, person, I'd let him.
  19. I don't think the weight of the Trues will have an impact whether you're a beginner or not... Would you rather skate in something lighter which causes constant pain??? Id pick skates that fit and don't cause pain over anything lighter that fits improperly.
  20. This. And he's also going to be redrilling the holes he just filled up..... 🤔
  21. Unfortunately mine aren't covered under satisfaction guarantee as I purchased it way below retail but is still covered under warranty.
  22. Maybe a part of me just wants a reason to go back to Trues 🤪
  23. Without getting too off topic. The trues overall fit and durability / stiffness I liked better. They never got soft and the fit was the same since day one. Way better protection and I didn't have to tinker with how I laced them for them to fit perfect. Resisted gashes and cuts very well. If I were to do it over again I would've kept my trues. Oh well.
