I would find out if it can but I don't see why it couldn't be since true skates are all about the molding process. If you can't, just bake the skates without the tongue then put the tongue on before you lace and mold them. At least this way the boot will form around and with the tongue.
-
I'm assuming you molded the skates with the 3d tongues? Can't rmbr if you mentioned that in the original post. But if it was baked with the original tongues they are slimmer, the 3d tongues for sure would feel super tight.

I actually did this mod on the traditional felt with t guard true tongues in my Bauer matrix skates I converted to inline. The stock tongues had wear on the edge of the felt which gave me a hot spot on the outside of my shin around the cuff area on the boot. So I bought some true tongues, but in order for the middle of the t guard to line up with the flex point of the skate, I had to shorten the tongue which I did by cutting AND tapering the bottom of the tongue so it would feel more stock like. It worked great as I kept the Velcro system. I kept a flap of material from the stock tongues and added a hook velcro on that so I didn't have to sew into the toe box. Looking back, I actually think the cat 9 or 9x4 tongue you have would've worked better in terms of overall volume. The traditional felt with t guard is quite thick but it still worked fine overall, and it's only for inlines that I wear like 5-6 times a year at most. I also was able to look at the 3d tongues in store and they do seem very thick. And the fact that they don't look like they break in really at all, seems like of it doesn't feel right off the bat it's likely not going to get much better over time.

I think it's pretty much confirmed by the pictures. No other stick had that exact font and stripe on the underside. It's definitely a pshs.

I use the p28 and CCM is my least favorite of the p28s but ccm is currently my go to brand since I like their sticks best. Ccm definitely has a less of a toe kink than say bauer and true 😔

Honestly, ccm holders on trues look mint. They just go so well together. As for the tongues, how did you find the stock tongues that came with with the 9x4? I was a fan of the cat 9 tongues having come from the traditional felt for years. When I tried the traditional felt with my cat pros it felt like it took up way to much volume and I had pinching in areas I never had. Maybe a rebake with the 3d tongues will fine tune the fit for you.

You can find a few on sideline and eBay here and there and even online stores for the 2.0. But the 2.0 are a bit thicker than the first Gen and sizes are scarce.

Buddy just replied to you above.

I honestly wonder why. He lost a blade during a game with the hyperlites too early on lol

Not all skates fit and feel the same for everyone.
-
You need to elaborate more. We're the latest true skates custom or retail? Have you looked into ccm and Bauer custom? Have you tried at least 2-3 models from ccm and Bauer and with that I mean 2-3 from the tacks, jetspeed, vapor, and supreme lines and not just the top end.

My bet is no.

They don't look good at all. Those stamped eyelets also seem like they won't last either.

Its not a longer profile but taller at the toe and heel. Both regular and xl come in 10' stock profile. It will not offset putting a larger holder but you can always profile your steel for more blade contact. Op, here u go https://tydanblades.com/collections/player-blades/products/ls-pulse-ti-xl-edge-runners

I have a feeling the TPS brand is going to essentially be a branded blackout sticks. But that's just a hunch. Don't think they'll offer anything that will get me to stray from a CCM or bauer on clearance or gepettos pshs

Fwiw, the instructions I think call for 5-7 mins baking time? In reality it should be like 7-10. When I baked it cat pros which are the same as the 9s shell, it was barely moldable after 7 mins.
-
They may not be wide enough for your feet but it doesn't mean they aren't for wide feet. Just depends HOW wide you need them. Depending how long you baked them it also could've not been hot enough. And you would t be punching the forefoot, to increase volume/width you'd stretch them which is a different process, but you'd need to leave it at the shop for a couple days at least to do it properly.

I see these a lot with trues. They will tell you it's not an issue. Epoxy and cf won't be compromised from water. And that's just the outermost layer. The problem I have with this is not only is it sloppy/lazy work, that area technically is structurally compromised as you can probably pick it with your fingers and cause the CF to fray. The outermost layer is mostly cosmetic and likely won't affect the OVERALL integrity of the boot, but still not acceptable imo when you're spending $1500 bucks. The good news is you can easily just fill those with epoxy yourself. That's what I would do vs shipping them back to true to do and pose the skates for 1-2 weeks.

Oh right this one loll. You're right

The tuuk perforated steel has a bunch of little triangles. This looks more like blade tech steel with the notches. The true shift steel has one notch in the back and these look just a couple more. Maybe for weight savings.
-
Well only way is to find out. No one has your feet. General answer is yes it would open up a bit but to how much you actually need, only way is for you to do it. You can always stretch the boot too. With trues it's easier bc the entire boot is one shell and doesn't have a junction where the plastic toe cap is attached to the quarter package.
-
It's a proto... It's gonna probably look nothing like this so there's really no point picking away at what is or isn't on the skate.

Tuuk Custom + holder LS Edge replacement
Sniper9 replied to VegasHockey's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Also keep in mind that with ls2 holders you generally want to drill a hole in the rear of the boot to access the bolt to swap the steel unless you want to remove the holders every time you switch steel.
