  1. I say a bit more than the MLX but if you were busting out in MLX's I don't think there will be enough depth in the Mako for you. Best bet is to try them on when they come out.
  2. Krev - I fit into a 8.5 when I tried on a S17.
  3. Gotta chance to try on a demo model last weekend. Didn't have time to bake it but right out of the box it fit like my MLX's. I could have skated in it right away. I'm sure post-bake it would be only better. Sizing seemed pretty close to MLX. I wear a MLX 8 with the thicker insert in it and the Mako 8 was pretty good for me. When they come out I'll try the 7.5 just to make sure but the 8 felt good lengthwise. Felt a bit more forward in stance compared to the MLX while standing in it but nothing too aggressive. Tongue is taller than the MLX so similar to other brands and better for those that want to flop. I'm excited for the release next year.
  4. Broke the blade on my new pro stock RS. Only had it for 1 week and got 2 uses out of it.
  5. I got a medical loss rebate check in the mail..... a whopping $7. Get's me a six pack.
  6. Any brand skate or shoe, etc that causes irritation in that area.
  7. Believe a RBZ. It was lightly used by Keith Yandle.
  8. Few recent pickups.
  9. I still remember hearing Krutov's name mentioned during the 80' Olympics USA vs USSR game.
  10. I honestly don't see how much the leagues can do to prevent continued head trauma. They can create all the rules they want but these are violent sports. You can assess all the penalties/suspensions you want but some guys will still target the head. Accidental head contact will still occur too. At the speed these sports are played at, a guy moves an inch and the targeted shoulder now unfortunately becomes the head. In sports like football your basically leading with your head. I don't know how you could change that game to drastically reduce head trauma without making it two-hand touch football.
  11. How bout scrap the yard and make it a concrete jungle. Turn it into your dryland training facility.
  12. Congrats! Must be the new mouthguard! Saw you were switching to Android in the smartphone thread. What model phone did you end up getting?
  13. They had like 14 of them initially. I picked up 2 a few weeks ago. Easy pick up for me since I'm local. It plays well.
  14. Played pickup for the first time ever last night. Always have done league or stick times. Good group of guys, most 10-20 years younger than I, that were A & B level players. Fast pace really made me push myself. Fun time.
  15. Jonathan Toews according to the shop.
  16. Nice pickups FATPHILLY. My two favorite teams. Toews Totalone
  17. New Eakin Widow with grip. Has a cool candy apple red glitter paint job. Was hard to decide what Warrior to buy. Was a nice Gaborik, Paille, and Lucic and more . Even Kovalchuck too, nasty toe to it. But most were Dolos with Widow or Dynasty paint jobs.
  18. Picked up few new twigs. Ekman-Larsson RS and Cal O'Reilly Widow. Plus got another TO Nystrom to go along with the one I got a few weeks back. Only used the RS for 20 minutes but so far kinda blah.
  19. Schools were off today so every kid showed up for stick time at 5:30 am. I was 8th one there. You have a cut off at 30 skaters.....why did I count 42 at one point. Thanks, I enjoyed my 5 feet of space.
  20. Congrats. Can't beat gear and philly soft pretzels. But stopped playing!?!
  21. Nah man. The work ethic you have here to run this site I'm sure carries over to all things you do. Sometimes interviewers make some strange and bad choices; it is their loss. Ask them for feedback (if they'll give honest feedback) and see if they tell you what area they felt you were not strong enough in for them. Then work to improve and keep in touch with them. Many hires don't pan out once on the job. Keep your head up.
