How can that not feel restrictive. And it looks terrible.

I could get used to the socks, but the thought of a tight jersey makes me feel claustrophobic.

oh yes, because tight meants restrictive

At first I wasn't impressed, but the more I Look, the more I like. I'm looking forward to try one on.

The Canada colored Vapor XXX looks great. Better than the normal one. Looks a lot like a True1, which the stick actually is anyways.

Once the uni's are seen on TV or in person, they will probably grow on you. The related article about the design was interesting. Like it or not, hockey is finally catching up to so many other sports when it comes to maximizing player performance at the elite level through his equipment and uniform. This research and information will benefit all of us who play the game because it has to trickle down through all levels of equipment and apparel in some form.

I'll bet five years ago everyone wore a crappy cotton t-shirt under their gear. Now we have posts that go on for days about the different types of performance shirts we wear to play in. This is all a progression and an evolution of the game. It was inevitable that jerseys would be the next step to take in the evolution of the high performance apparel. We may not like how they look but they look that way for a reason.

It may have taken Nike ten years to find their way around the marketplace but they have a damn good idea of what they are doing now. And probably, five years from now.

Remember what was said about Chris Zimmerman, CEO of BNH. Believe it because he has a plan, the company has a vision and they will make things happen to impact the game. They already have. It is quite obvious who wants to lead. Will the other vendors just follow, play catch-up, or get to work as well? I'm looking forward to finding out.

That t-shirt under our gear was a $5 shirt, now it's a $40 shirt. Making jersey costs go up accordingly isn't going to benefit youth or beer league players. It is going to create yet another case of "have vs have not" in hockey, and there is already a lot of that type of snobbery in the sport at the youth levels.

Chadd do you really think the house youth or beer league player is going to be hell bent on this type of jersey?? some elite travel squads sure..but 95% of us will never have a need or put one of those things on in a locker room..

Similar to the stuff that Discovery Channel uses for the TTT and long track speedskaters are there for them but you and I don't get to buy that tech from Nike, ProBikeKit or anywhere else....but outside of changing the cut of a jersey or maybe putting a bit more stretch etc in there..there will be little change for most of us..i'd bet a large majority of beer league players still skate with cotton t's or if they have a wicking shirt..it was in the $10 bin at the LHS

i agree with chadd 300% im not really impressed at all. i can see where it might help a little with wind resistance and all that stuff but the jersey will not make you a better player or skate any faster. and taking off a few grams isnt that huge. also making jersey cost wont help most leagues.

Read the article again. The jersey will be reduce wind resistance. OK, you say so what. Skate once with any NHL guy, see how fast they really skate as compared to us at top speed, and at that level they will take advantage of the most miniscule difference to make it a big difference. OK, Joe Beer League, no difference , no problem. But again when you are talking about the 1/2 of 1% at the top of the pyramid, they will be able to take advantage of these improvements.

Watch any Formula 1 or NASCAR race on any given Sunday. Each car is put in the wind tunnel for massive amounts of time to learn how to become 1/1000 of a second faster than the competition. Again, I know that Joe Beer League doesn't need this advantage or will ever be able to use it. I am just grateful that some vendor in our world of hockey has the balls to take these steps and find these performance advantages.

BTW, one thing I have noticed in my shop this summer is how many hockey campers are wearing performance apparel for their undergarment. Almost 100% of the players when they walk past the pro shop to the snack bar for Gatorade are wearing these shirts. At the same time, we have eight divisions of adult hockey at night(4 rink building) and the beer league guys buy alot of these shirts as well.

So I wonder how much they will slide on the ice? Isn't that one of the reasons why Cooperall was nixed, fall down and you're sliding a lot futher than what you would with usual socks??

I'll bet they probably researched that at a local atom league game last winter.

I'm willing to bet half of the teams in the local travel league will have that type of jersey within 12 months of them becoming available. Regardless of price.

On a semi-related note, if NHL jerseys aren't on closeout now they will be soon. I would hope most shop owners didn't stock up on stuff this year because next year all of the NHL teams will be in something similar.

Yeah, RBK is going to be changing the uniforms - I am not sure if it is this year or next. However, remember that they had a jersey booking special at the show based on when the season started...

Not liking the new style. The players look like soccer players on skates.

It's an obvious move considering how popular soccer is in the US.

At my rink, I don't see the house league using them. It has nothing to do with what the kids want, it's about what the parents want when it comes to leagues and jerseys. More often than not house league parents don't care about jerseys. Considering the fact our rink has as many or more travel teams than house league teams (as does every other rink in my area), house league adoption of new jerseys is irrelevant. That's why I ignored that part.

In the league I play, I would say half would switch over within a couple years. The same guys who buy $400 skates and a $200 stick that produces a 45mph slapper for them will spend the money on jerseys just to be cooler than the other guys.

Man, those look terrible. Not the fit but the striping patterns. And numbers on the shoulders?

The socks look horrible (nice hood striping) and it makes me wonder how long the jersey or socks will last with contact.
