Neo5370 132 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 Walmart has waaayyyy more stuff. But if they were right next to each other, I'd go to Target first.
Chadd 916 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 I find the staff and customers at Target to be far more civil. I also prefer many of their products.
asdfa 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 target for the underdog factor, however, from a business standpoint, wal-mart is the king, and for prices, service, overall shopping experience, wal-mart is unbeatable.
Chadd 916 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 target for the underdog factor, however, from a business standpoint, wal-mart is the king, and for prices, service, overall shopping experience, wal-mart is unbeatable. I've had Wal-mart staff threaten to kick my ass and kill me because I walked across the floor they just mopped. The fact I couldn't get the product I wanted without doing so was entirely irrelevant to him. That's a shaopping experience I can live without.
Dangles 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 Neither. I'll gladly drive across town to a clean, organized store which doesn't have hundreds of stuff just standing around down squat all.
seanmccann 3 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 I havn't been into a Target for a few years, being from Canada, but I still feel Target to be better than Walmart. I know that the Walmart stores in our area are starting to hire more and more "losers". When I was younger I used to think that the employees at these large stores were so kind, helpful and full of knowledge but with the new standards and lifestyle the empoyees are worse than ever. Not all of them but quite a large number.
mnhockey14 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 I have to go with wal mart because it has way more sporting goods. i feel target is better for clothes though.
JR Boucicaut 3803 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 Target is more upscale, especially down South...
whbd18 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 I prefer Target, much nicer inside and they sell Jones Soda, which is the best soda ever made.
kosydar 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 Target is probably the nicer of the two, but overall I prefer Wal Mart. Wal Mart is 15 minutes closer to me, is bigger, and is cheaper. The staff sucks, but that doesnt' bother me too much.
notorious#29 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 Like others have said, Target is a nicer store, and I prefer it over Wal-mart. Wal-mart usally does have better prices though.
mack 44 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 Target, they at least have Starbucks. Plus I'm in the South, so the Wal-Mart clientele here is like everyone else's to the Nth power of trashiness.
Drewhunz 3 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 Another Southerly opinion- Target all the way. Wal-Mart is all about their own profits at the expense of their customers and their own employees. Wal-Mart claims to be the friend of the working man even though eighty percent of their own employees are scheduled to work less than 27 hours a week to avoid full-time benefits. However, Wal-Mart is concerned enough with their own profits to place life insurance policies on their employees in hopes that they will one day collect on their misfortunes. I absolutely refuse to shop at Wal-Mart due to the fact that every dollar you spend goes not to help the community but to pad the pockets of the Waltons. The truth about Wal-Mart

The truth about Wal-Mart I remember the discussion we had about this once, haha. Anyways, I prefer to shop at target just because its nicer. Although generally wal mart is cheaper, especially with CD's and movies and those type of things.
mack 44 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 Wal-Mart edits their CDs though, a cruel lesson I learned when I picked up Eminem there.
ponty 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 Whats the 3rd option? Stay away from both? :P
mack 44 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 You've been married too long, Ponty. I'm still in my college frame of mind where you can get household stuff at Target but I'm quickly learning that isn't allowed anymore.
pantherfan 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2005 In the UK we don't have targets/taggerts either.....or walmarts but we have asda which is owned by walmart and safeway which is owned by morrisons so i'd go with asda"walmart"
