Favorite NHL player

Recommended Posts

Old school: Bobby Orr

'90's : Fedorov, P. Kariya, Modano, Mogilny, Coffey (He'd be kinda old school too), Kovalev, Roenick (when he was w/ the B'hawks), Jagr, Selanne.

Post 2000: Same as above except add S. Niedermayer and Spezza. Though some of the above guys are losing their shine.

And because I can relate, I like Gionta and Steve/Martin Kariya even though those two they're not exactly NHL players anymore.

I'm really liking the way Kesler has been playing lately for the Canucks. However, he's not number one. Heatley must take top honours for me though.

Lidstrom, Heatley, Pronger, Zetterberg, Ovechkin, Phaneuf, Datsyuk

But, my all-time favorite ever since i started watching hockey is Steve Yzerman.

Gretzky, Messier & Coffey. I was an Oilers fan back then. Converted Leafs fan after the Great One was traded.

Oh, I hate JR...killed the Leafs in the playoffs last year.

Jumbo Joe Thornton. Unlike the Bruins, I've always thought he played tough, getting cross-checked relentlessly behind the net, yet still controlling the puck. Plus he has an edge to his game.

And seems well-spoken and well-mannered off the ice.

Iginla, Richards, St Louis, Gagne, Heatley, McCabe, Naslund, Datsyuk, Tanguay, Marleau, Doan and the list goes on. If I had to pick one it would McCabe with Gagne first for the forwards.
